One of the most popular C64 games!
I watched others longplays on youtube. No other recording the title and highscore music. I wonder why? That's the best part of this game IMO and these should always be included in longplays.
In case you don't know. You can use the waterdrop to walk in fire. That's what I do on level 21. So don't say i cheat :-)

I played it in my youth though. Today i have it on a SD drive that i can load from the tape input on my C64 that i have had in the past 30 years.

I only played the Super Mario Bros version of this. It was just a graphic hack, with Maria turned into Mario, and two enemies changed - one into a turtle, one into a cloud with a hat. The rest of the game was the same.

The music at the end sounds like someone has just died, was depressing hearing this music after my great great grandmother passed away in 1988. This music made me cry back then 😢

This is a big mistake of the original game name, because the correct spelling in Italy for Giana is GiaNNa. And Giana Sisters are meant to be Italian, just like mario and luigi.

This one... Technically it actually originally was exactly that. Manfred Trenz (who coded the game) decided to pitch the idea to Nintendo about porting the game over to the C64 and Amiga. Nintendo refused, so they just changed the sprites, powerups, and the music and released the game under a different name.
