My dad bought a C64 for us kids to play with. This game was by far my favorite. I would play it FOREVER. Good times.

Mind blown! I played this a lot back in the day and could never get past Figurits Revenge. You absolutely breezed through all the levels! Well played, Sir!

I remember getting to walls but I was only a step ahead of you. F.R. could be a tough level. Before looking at this, I forgot I got as far as walls. It's been so many years since I've played this.

This is such a creative game! See, many of these one-screen collection games from the C64 tend to get repetitive quickly, but this one has a surprising amount of variety to it.

Amazing longplay. This game was hard as a kid, especially the dramatic falling of Jumpman when losing a life was frustrating to watch. Seeing this video makes me appreciate the game more, because each level introduced a new element.

I had this on Colecovision and never could beat it. A ground-breaking, but very difficult, obstacle course platformer for its time. Hearing the different tones from the C64 just sound so weird to me.

I played soo much to Jumpman! It was sooo fun :D The best game ever :) ♥Very fun to be able to see it again! ♥My only problem was the joystick which was not reliable. I remember one day I was close to the last level and I died because the joystick did not follow my command. I had a memorable tantrum. My mother saw me rolling on the floor in rage (I was like 15 or 16 years old. Ah ah! I had gone completely nut!)). She was overwhelmed :D :D Ha ha! The good old days ;)

Very impressive! I rarely got past level 5 and level 7+ looked totally unfamiliar so I must never have gotten past 6. I had a cheat code for unlimited lives on original Jumpman which helped me get good, but I was not aware of one for Jumpman Jr.

Jumpman was one of the first games I bought but I don't think I was ever able to make it all the way through. Never had Jr--think it was cartridge based, right?

Both Jumpman games had cartridge releases though. Jumpman Junior was just a scaled down version of the original with less levels

@fordprefect803 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty certain it wasn't written in basic but assembly language (machine code). No way you'd get an arcade game that quick in basic on the c64. And you could break out of some machine code games.

@@fordprefect80 It was in basic and remember erasing any copyright symbols and putting in my friends fake crew name. Something like Copyright Gangsta 1983 or something like that. I would give extra lives and so forth. It was one of the way I learned how to program by reading the source code.
@fordprefect803 жыл бұрын
@@inachu I just loaded it up on emulator and its definitely machine code, as its listing is a one line basic program calling sys2059. I've played many basic written games on the c64 and have programmed some myself. They in general run like a morbidly obese sixty year old. You sure you got the right game?
@inachu3 жыл бұрын
@@fordprefect80 There was a part that was also "LIST"able on the tandy. The code you use today for that game is of course real code but there was also by the same company a BASIC version and I played it both on the tandy trash 80 color and on the c-64 I just started googling to see if I can find the code for the tandy version first.
