This is where you should include the vehicles weight. The Cayman 718 GT4 is about 2970lbs so I'm guessing the GTS boxter is maybe 3100lbs tops. I think the C8 z51 is around 3400lbs. I'm a sucker for lightweight cars & it's probably why the 718 GT4 (and now the Lotus Emira) are on my list of potential replacements for M2Comp. Unless I can find an M2 CS w/ a manual. Love your channel! I watch every video (even the soccer mom whips). That Genesis SUV you reviewed the other day was pretty amazing.

It’s the small details that count. Suspension, gearing, aero, highest quality engine components, etc. Porsche has no problem charging you whatever so they can afford to make sure everything is top tier even if their down on power compared to a specific car. Chevy can’t charge 100k( most likely more) for a base vette like Porsche can a base carrera. They’ve really set themselves up Nicely.

I don't agree on hold up better in time lol. Porche's are reliable. For a German brand... Compare it to the average American and Japanese cars and they're still unreliable and expensive to maintain. Porshe's require up to $20,000 worth of maintenance in the first 10 years of ownership. An LT based Corvette would stand the test of time way better than the Porsche, ESPECIALLY the engine. The only people who say Porshe's are super reliable are people that have plenty of money and don't really care, and ones that don't actually own a Porsche lmao

Honestly, as much as I've always loved Corvettes, the fact that you can get that 4L Boxster with a manual seals the deal. There will be plenty of time to drive cars where you don't have to do any manual shifting when everything is electric. The only thing better than an amazing sounding NA engine, is an amazing sounding NA engine bolted to an excellent manual gearbox. Gotta go Boxster GTS.

To auto-lock the Corvette, it's done through the infotainment screen. Settings -> Vehicle -> Remote Lock, Unlock, and Start -> Passive Door Lock -> On.

im a beggar so i'll take ANY C8 at this point in History. no Randy Pobst, but i'm fortunate enough to have driven one at speed on a racetrack, and it is indeed as good as everyone says. ironically, what surprised me more than the performance of the car (handling not really a surprise since GM are the same ones who build the Alpha/G6 Camaro) was the INTERIOR. i went in expecting to be somewhat disappointed, only to find its 10x better than I thought (note, I've also driven Mercs, Ferraris, and Lambos so i have a genuine reference of comparison). it does indeed have a whole "fighter jet thing" going on. while this has been much talked about and can be SEEN in the pictures, this feeling doesn't really HIT HOME until you "physically" plant your ass in the driver's seat. until you do that...? then unfortunately you don't really know.

Hi Yuri and Jakub. I’ve had every series of Boxster since 2000 until the 718. I regularly carried golf clubs. You have to remove drivers and woods and lay them down in the rear trunk separately. If you have 2 bags then one set of drivers/woods goes in the Cabin with the passenger. That way 2 bags go in the boot. So if that’s an issue for anyone it definitely can be done. I’ve also tested this with the 718 although I switched to a 911 after the 718 went four-cylinder. Disclaimer: haven’t checked if the GT4.0 engine may reduce size of the rear trunk.

This is the exact comparison I've been waiting for, far more real than comparing the C8 with the 911. I'm very surprised by the drag performance, which was very entertaining to follow. Performance wise it seems similar to what other KZbinrs have coaxed out of the C8. The GTS seems more nimble on non North American roads and easier to get out of in parking lots. Unfortunately the EU has neutered the GTS sound, it needs a custom exhaust. I love the C8 interior but GM cut all the cool exterior colors after the first year of production. I'm somewhat surprised both chose the C8 as I thought the feel of dancing on the limit in the GTS 4.0 would be more enticing.

I have driven sports cars for 50 years. I have used my sports car for club competition. So I will go for the Porsche. On tight mountain roads here in Australia the Porsche is going to perform better. And unfortunately, the Corvette is going to cost at least 20% more in Oz. And then there is after sales support. The distributor for the Corvette in Australia has a reputation of being difficult and at times arrogant. That does not happen with the Porsche.

I own a 2020 Accelerate Yellow Z51 and Loving It. I do not find all the buttons confusing at all, all the buttons on the waterfall are HVAC. Top portion are for the Driver, Bottom is for Passenger and center are main controls for heat and AC. The C8 is definitely a conversation piece, no matter where I park people come over and ask all kinds of questions about it and want to take photos of it. Naturally this is only my opinion.

The Porsche is quite impressive, but given how close they are in price I'd much rather go with the Corvette. Even some car people can't tell Porsches apart but the Corvette grabs all the attention and, although it will become more common, it will still be gorgeous and respectable and one of the best looking and performing cars money can buy at that price range; it truly is a budget supercar.

Have a deposit on the 718 GTS 4.0. Corvette is faster, but less fun to drive unless you are close to the limit (And a bit too loud for my tastes) Both are good choices

Fanfriggantastic video. I’ve owned many Porsches including 2 911s and tracked them. I love Porsche. But if choosing between the Boxster and a C8 Z, I’m choosing the C8. I would not choose it over a 911 or GT4.

I'd probably go boxster gts over a base c8. And I am with you on 911 turbo/gt2/gt3 and any gt4 over any vette.

MD, that depends on which 911. I would pick the C8 Stingray convertible over the 992 or the 992 S. The 992 Turbo S is a different animal all together. Speed and luxury.

Tune it? This ain’t the turbo model it’s a naturally aspirated engine just like the corvette. Very small gains from tuning alone.

When most people talk about tuning, they are typically referring to using a piggyback device or doing ECU code changes to get higher boost from existing turbochargers, which neither of these cars has. If you are simply talking about changing fuel, throttle, and transmission behavior, that's not something exclusive to the Porsche since the LT2 in this car is so closely related to its LT1 predecessor and modifications to tune it have already started coming out.

@@joeyoung3319 you can watch reviews on people hitting corners and the under steer is not something that will become a issue all the time-at all. It’s been placed that way because of the larger target audience. Safer to have under steer built into the car

Next car will be the C8 Stingray. They both seem like great cars but the C8 is much nicer looking. I also prefer a hardtop convertible for a year round driving car.

I drive Porsche Boxter GTS 4,0 since 2 months. Nobody under 500 hp should challenge this toy. Insane fun. 10,0 liter/100km gasoline in longer journeys 100-120 kmh. What more can you expect from a convertible sportscar?
