চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অভয়ারণ্যে দেখা পাওয়া যায় মায়া হরিণ, সজারু, বনমোরগ, বুনো শূকর, বানর, বনরুইসহ নানা প্রজাতির প্রাণী। তবে সবচেয়ে বেশি দেখা যায় সাপ। প্রতি বছর শীত ও বর্ষা ঋতুতে উপদ্রব বেড়ে যায় তাদের। সম্প্রতি প্রবল বৃষ্টির কারণে সাপের উপদ্রব বেড়ে গেছে কয়েক গুণ বেশি।
