These are the best sounding digital pianos I have ever heard. It leaves all the other branded digital pianos behind, other digital pianos have that horrible tinny sound. The sound in Kawia pianos are absolutely amazing,

​@@dominic6055this is my feedback after playing it. The sound is not bad. But it deeply disappointed me in terms of key action / touch. Its Grand feel 3 action is unsubstantial. It's too lighter than acoustic grand pianos, is spongy, with unfirm touch. If you want to study seriously advanced classical music, I would avoid these models (Kawai CA99/701/901), because you highly likely will have problems playing it on acoustic grand pianos. Because you don't exercise properly all the mussels of your hands. At advanced level it affects your mussels memory. It gets accostumed to the too simplified ans different non acoustic action, and you don't develop or don't mantain the tactile mussels exercise required to perform nicely advanced classical music on acoustic grand pianos.The 701/901 is even lighter than the 99. It's a non sense to make the successors even lighter. It seems not to have a really nice key bed and has an inconsistent simulation of escapement also. No real hammers but only counterweights.I wanted to buy it, but I will never after playing them in a showroom Of course if you're not a serious classical music player, it can be ok.

Beyond incredible. Sounds extremely close to the nv5 through my phone speakers. Im seriously considering one of these for my home studio for recording directly to audio without a vst. But....how well do they work with midi cables? As I mentioned, I love the 901 tones already, but having the ability to make use of some of my favorite vsts would also be nice (when a specific tone is desired).

Thank you for your question. This was recorded using the newly released Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Competition-level Concert Grand Piano sound profile. This Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Competition-level Concert Grand Piano sound profile is a new sound added to new premium models/series released in and after 2023, and is not available on NV5S (released prior to this new sound). The most similar sound available on the NV5S is the standard Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano sound. The SK-EX Competition Grand Piano sound profile is found in the new Concert Artist series. Both sounds use our same high fidelity sampling sounding, resonance modelling, and SK-EX rendering engine. The Competition sound has slightly different characteristics which are taken from one of our specially selected and reserved SK-EX concert grand pianos used in international competitions and prepared/tuned to the these competition standards.

nice sound but the piano is too low for the pianist. See the angle of his forearms, e.g. at 1:51. Please consider building taller models, Kawai. As the CA901 is way too low for grown men I will wait for the release of the MP12.
