that isnt a great indicatior. You need to get bigger trends to justify an over /under bet. Check for that trend both home and away that specific season throughout the entire season. If the trend is good you should also check to see if it is still observed in the most recent matches (last 5 or so). Then check if the usual goal scorers are all playing (usually only possible for more popular leagues). Betting for consistent wins requires hours of chasing value.

Good video, however when the exchange spreads are that wide, you can't automatically say the mid point is the correct price. It just doesn't work like that. If it was, say, 2.4 - 2.48, it would be reasonable to assume 2.44 is right. But when it's 2.3 - 2.6 with £2 traded than there's no way you can be sure 2.45 is the true one.

A fair comment, the problem comes with creating videos here though. I have to keep it simplistic for everyone to understand. If I start going harder on finer detail and exchanges the majority aren't interested and don't get it. This is fascinating to someone who’s studied statics and decision analysis. You are exploiting a long run market asymmetry between the real odds and the better value odds. It is endless also as the discrepancy is there and you bet when it’s in your favour, as you are always consistently getting better odds that’s the book maker who you are competing against. Basically you are both taking the same bet, but you are going in with the probability of you beating them higher than the other way around. So over the long run you will come out on top! This is great!

You could just leave an order in the exchange the price you see with the bookie. Okay, a chance it may not get filled if a game develops quickly, but it’s another potential angle. It would also allow full automation with software such as Fairbot or BF bot

Same. It is only a matter of goalkeeping bettint over/under 2.5. I’ve had games with extremely many shots on goal but it won’t simply score because their goalkeeper is a monster. I once was one game away from 1500 euro. Each team had 7 shots on goal with ZERO goals. My previous game the scoreboard was 2-2 after 35 min when both teams had each 2 shots on goal. I do not look at the odds because of this reason. I have won on over 2.5 goals where the odds were 2.90 but lost on odds 1.70 despite statistics. All.About.Goalkeeping. All.

So: 1. Pick semi-unknown leagues matches 2. Check the “fair value” of over / under off of a bet exchange (e.g. betfair) 3. If the bookie you’re using (eg. Caan, wouldn't be easier to bet on selected value bets in exchanges once the match starts after 10 -15 minutes if no change in scoreline this way you'd get much higher odds so 2% commission wouldn't matter

if your completely restricted with your bookmaker accounts but you have an exchange account then try offering the bookies value price on the exchange with the stake you wish to use as obviously prices move both before and during a match so it may suprise you how often you can get your bets matched even if like me you add a couple of ticks more to the bookies value price to increase your value on that particular bet as well. Just a thought

Exchange means commission, and premium charge for me. Wont get mental stakes on any sportsbook to be fair unless a total degen. Can work for a limited time on reasonable stakes.

One thing I've never understood about people saying getting the value on bets will guaranteed you a winner over time is that everything you back at the so called value can still lose, every one of those 30 bets you struck could of lost, mathematics don't guarantee winners , what am I not understanding?

All 30 could lose, but over an even bigger sample you would come out on top if you are really taking value odds above their actual probability. As an extreme example, if you had the chance to back Man City at 5.0 to beat Norwich then you would lump on every time, even though they won't actually beat them now and then, you still know in the long run you would easily make money.

Because bookies' line movements follow sharp money (or they follow other bookies that follow sharp money). When they don't have reference to sharp money they'll only give low limits (think skybet props, or early bfsp/pp prices)

You're missing the point a bit. Yes plenty will lose, and some will win. Probability and mathematics ensure a way of measuring the chance of something happening. This is it's true price, if you bet above the true price - you will win eventually. If you bet below it - you will certainly lose. Short term results aren't predictable, but long-term ones are. It's how betting companies make their money... you don't think they make millions because they are better at guessing results than everyone else do you? Taking value is the complete opposite of what they are doing (giving bad value).

So by the comments this video is over a year old and this is my 2nd day of researching trading on betfair and what I'm seeing all to often is people better £50, here £100 their.. I'm starting with £100 with the idea of learning and developing a skill set to trade and make a profit... what I've yet to find until now is any explanation on the actual odds, what to look for, but more importantly, how to utilise a small bank and the best way to do it. Using, say 2-3% of it.. Gaging an understanding of the odds appears to be the most critical.. placing a £21 lay on a draw only to make a profit of 60p when the favourite scores 1st is surely not the way. All I'm trying to do is develop strategies to make a profit to grow my bank. I'm guessing patience is gonna be massively required..

You don't need to worry about which event does what. Eventually probability plays out, you just need to make sure you get payed more than the probable chance - making you a long-term winner. Its the only way to win in sports betting.

Even running a tad below the mean, stil profitable. Doing this over larger sample will return 50/50 winloss ratio but with the right odds, its guaranteed income. Why bet so little? thanks for sharing the strategy. but if bookmakers may limit you, what if you place bet only at exchange by typing that middle odds before the game if it will arrive into that spot. will this work also

He's using the exchange to find value bets in bookies. I've done that with the AI beth for horse racing, and it worked well..but I think they went under already. As the cost of the beth subscription meant that the ROI from beth had to be substantial in order to justify the membership
