I can't seem to get my head around the amazing rail infrastructure of Europe. I mean the rails, tunnels, viaducts. And beautiful scenery and way of life of the people there.

Even though I live in America, not Switzerland or Norway, I love seeing your train, driving and walking u-tubes. I never been those places, or will get to those places, but seeing your country by rail, one sees the real back bone of life in your country. A lot of what I see in viewing, is similar to the way we live, The beautiful, and not so beautiful parts of the domesticated city’s and the beautify wild parts of nature between city’s.

@ppvd46923 жыл бұрын
The crop in those yellow fields is likely either mustard, or rapeseed; these can be grown as a cover crop to benefit the next, main crop on the land, or as a crop themselves (usually for vegetable oil).

@Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co4 жыл бұрын
LBOrgue I looked the town up on Google Maps and it seems that the old station wasn't anywhere near the city centre, which is probably why it was shut down. The town is still very much there, and it has bus service to a number of train stations so it's still accessible via public transit. Sometimes rail authorities made an educated guess as to where the communities they served would develop, and sometimes those guesses were wrong. It can't have helped that the town is very hilly.

What a beautiful view coming down the valley after exiting the tunnel. It is a pity that they didn't us the tunnel primarily for freight and high speed international passenger trains, and leave the regular domestic inter-city and slower international services using the old line, so people could enjoy the view, which I'd bet is one of the major reasons a lot of people travel by train.

Fantastic ! One of my favorite parts of Switzerland Fluelen ! On another note I think the SBB (and other rail company's) are missing out on an opportunity to make money out of rail fans like myself by offering cab rides available to the "rail tourist" out there (obviously there would have to be rules and maybe a safety induction) for a price. I myself would love to pay for the experience of travelling like that ! It would be amazing ! Slightly off topic what frame rate to you record your footage in ? It is superb ! Thanks Richard.

Thanks for your nice comment. This trip was only filmed at 1080 50p. I do however want to upgrade. I can film 4k with my current camera, but it reduces the stabilisation resulting in a lousy viewing experience (see Lenzburg - Zürich video).
