These where the good old days when you just signed a release, and the day was yours. Those days are gone forever, and lots of changes have taken place on the LS&I. We brought a loaded taconite train down the hill, and into the yard. The dock job will shove them up on the pocket dock for the next ship to be loaded. We have made our run-around, and coupled onto our empties. We are in the cab of an ex-BN C30-7 #3073 as we wait for the Dock Job to clear the switch. Then as the late afternoon sun sets, its time for us to depart for the climb from Marquette to Eagle Mills. Our power is LS&I C30-7 #3073, and U30C #3011 on the Hill Job. Both units are ex-BN. Sit back and listen for the next 8 minutes, as these old girls get down to business and starts their climb from the shore of Lake Superior. It will be notch 8 once we are out of the yard, and all the way up the hill. Thanks for watching...
