I have no idea how I ended up here and I never really thought of model trains, but I've watched the entire thing with so much wonder, respect for the builders and love for the beautiful details and landscaping. This world has something wholesome and "safe" about it, making me want to step outside of the train and explore the place. I could watch this every day! Lovely.

The time, money, and effort that goes into making the wonderful layouts! If I had Half the time, money and talent - I'd have a layout. Thanks for putting this out on KZbin - Its marvelous! My Uncle collected Lionel trains when I was a kid - He had such passion for this hobby - He would have embraced todays technology for train layouts.

Rusty tracks in some places, a bicycle race led by the police, a German newsstand on the platform. The details are so lovely. It's been made with lots of love and dedication. ... And the Ferris wheel! Wanna buy a ticket for it 😍 ... Even the noises sound real. For example when another train rushes by. I wouldn't expect that from a model railway. Wow ... German railway models are most beautiful ❤

It is beautiful. The realistic cabride experience is just disturbed by only two circumstances: 1. the black "sky" and bright light have a rather unpleasant effect. This is what it would look like on the moon. 2. the tunnels could look more realistic inside

The layout also capable of time-travel. At any rate, the cars at 4.10 are from the 1920s and 1930s but by the time we get to the station at 4.20 we're back in 2017 (or 2021).

Is this at miniatur wunderland? Such an impressive layout, as a model railroader myself I can't imagine how long it must have taken to build all of this with such a high grade of detail. Thank you for sharing!
@pilentum6 жыл бұрын
No, it is not the Miniatur Wunderland. It is a different great model railway exhibition in Germany.
Nice layout. One issue with large layouts is that you have to do a lot of maintenance as well. This layout needs maintenance: e.g. level crossing gates not working. Some of the signals are not working and the train is often passing red signals. The route is quite boring: seems to be a big loop. The tracks below the mountains seem to be designed and built very well. I like the camera view.

Oh dear. 6:50 the train passes a signal at red. Living on the edge I see. Again at 12:20,13:40,14:30, 15:40, and 16:59 as well. Also not counting some of the dwarf signals in the switchyards, they look like they might only support red. Still, if that's the only obvious details that I could spot, pretty impressive. This must have taken years and several people to build, then to restore and convert to DCC. Does the train make a gradual progression across each deck in one gigantic loop route? Or does it roughly stay on a given deck and just loop that deck until it goes into the parking track to make room for another.
@pilentum5 жыл бұрын
On the layout are several blocks, but the main line is one gigantic loop. Experts call it dog-bone-layout.
