I saw the Cabs play live several times, and their live shows were always top notch. Like many, I enjoyed Richard H Kirk's new material under the revived Cabaret Voltaire banner, and was rather hoping that some new live shows would be in the near future. I was utterly stunned on hearing of his death. So unexpected and sad. A great legacy left behind, though.

This is the first version of this song that I heard back in the 80's. It is also the best version IMHO. This song is a timeless work of art. Stirs my *fill in the blank* ( ) everytime.... What does it stir in you?

🧡 The Cabs. Such a brilliant track that takes me straight back to the 80s and a night club in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, called "The Place". It was massive. There were 4 dance rooms and the smallest played indie and electronic music. Whenever "Yashar" or "Sensoria" was played there was always a collective mad dash for the floor. Happy nights of synths and cider. This is a timeless classic 🧡

This will always be Summers in Chicago during the late 1980s. In my bedroom dancing or at Medusas- the seminal Alternative all ages club for Chicago teens. I was there. And I wish I could go back.

Club Fire & Ice 1984 Miami.Fl. Oscar & I would suggest to the DJ( our friend) to play this very late. 'Round 5am.When only the diehards were present. We'd take the almost empty dance floor. Carry on a freaks mocking the spent remnants in the bar ogling us. Two pretty boys dancing and making out to tempt their lust or envy.

I didn't start going to Fire & Ice till 1985. The best music and sound system. I went so much that it started to interfere with my military career at Homestead AFBase. I would leave until 5:00am....had to be at the base at 7:00 in uniform to work....

This song came out in 1982, New Order got ideas mainly from Throbbing Gristle, Kraftwerk and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Though they played same gigs with C.V

@@iliasgkalgkanopoulos8397 Fair call on the date, about the same time as the Everythings Gone Green EP. I've been listening to NO since they began and have never, ever heard any SatB in their sound, or Throbbing Gristle (who I found unlistenable pretentious crap) True, Ian Curtis was good friends with Genesis P-Oridge and they influenced each others 'art' but musicwise in NO? I just don't hear it.

New Order and Cabaret Voltaire were both an inspiration on each other. New Order even recorded some of their Movement material at CV's Western Works Studio in Sheffield. As for Siouxsie and the Banshees, I've never heard anyone ever state that New Order were in any way influenced by them and it's simply not true. Kraftwerk were a big influence, as were Giorgio Moroder, Can and a lot of the Italo-house records in the early 80s.
