Hey! Incredible video! I’m planning on going to Cab in February. Heard it’s a bit more wavy that time of year though. I’d say I’m intermediate but have sailed for quite a few years - just need to learn to water start in Cabarete since the wind where I’m from is rarely strong enough. Have you experienced the conditions in the winter there? Is it more challenging than other times? Great work again!

February is a great month. How long altogether? Minimum of two weeks guarantees some great fun! The bay lets you practice your skills, you can then venture in the waves depending on your comfort and the current swell. Been sailing here for 7 years now.

Manu's Windsurfing Blog I will probably just be going for a week. Good to know there’s a closed Bay Area to train in. That should be good enough for me to get waterstarts in the first day or two hopefully!

@@DJMaksymum Do you surf too? SUP? Usually when there's no wind, there's good surf and vice versa. It looks like we are about to get hit by some crazy weather with swell for the next few days!

Manu's Windsurfing Blog I have done SUP before, but I’d rather go and learn to surf maybe. Though hopefully the weather is good in the afternoons. During the day I might just take in the city and rest before long afternoon and evening sessions!

Nice sailing and nice video, congratulations! Did you get to loop? Also, what kind of mount were you using on the cleat for the camera and what angle setting?

Manuel Prieto Hi, thank you, I hope April is even better! No loop and after yesterday's session, I feel like I'm farther from them than I thought I was, sad. I'm using a custom mount. It's a plastic pipe, sliced in half and snapped and duct taped on the boom. Then on the outer side I have an aluminum pipe for rigidity. I use the rollbar mount to fix the camera. Here are photos: windsurfing.lepicture.com/img/misc/camera-mount-1.jpg windsurfing.lepicture.com/img/misc/camera-mount-2.jpg windsurfing.lepicture.com/img/misc/camera-mount-3.jpg

Well, I can understand the challenge. Have not gotten to loop yet myself. Great job on the custom mount. It looks sturdy and the video came out great. I attempted a custom mount too a couple of years ago with PVC pipe but missed two of your key elements: the aluminum for rigidity and enough duck tape for durability... the result shaky video and a GoPro living among the fish.. cheers!
