Cabarita Beach is a truly special beach village on the Tweed Coast - which is on the far north coast of New South Wales (25 minutes drive south of the Gold Coast & Queensland border). It is renowned as a prime surfing location and holiday location, but is also very much loved by locals and affectionately known as as "Caba".
On this walk we will see how the local Cabarita community have decorated their very special little piece of paradise for Christmas in their own unique style.
This walk begins on the shared pedestrian & cycle path on the north side of town and we make our way into and through the heart of the village and then down to the main beachfront. We do not go onto the beach today, but rather we take the Cabarita Hill Walking Trail which takes us through natural bushland and brings us out to the breath-taking views of Cabarita Headland and the many people out enjoying the beautiful December day - just 4 days before Christmas Day.
The surf is perfect and there are so many out enjoying the waves.
We end part 1 of this walk over looking the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, but take up again in part 2, where we will return back towards the village and the cycleway. Part 3 will be the full-length walk including both parts 1 & 2 and a bit of extra footage.
