I put 600+ miles on my ‘68 Beetle 🪲 to finally find one for a niece, at that point 120+ miles round trip. It was insane the way people were over those dolls. Her mother put it out as ‘Santa’. She came over to me and said, I know you got this for me. Santa 🎅 said that he was sorry but he didn’t think SO many children would want them and he didn’t make enough of them. She was 3 y.o. She was totally okay with Santa over it. So she asked for a big Hershey bar in her stocking. Asked if I could break it up so she could share. She was such a good person to be so young. She still has that doll. I don’t think either of her daughters can play with it 😊😊😊 Y’all have a blessed day today and every day 😊❤️🌎

I remember the craze of the cabbage patch kids my mother was so glad we much older and didn’t have to through the nonsense of trying to get one. People knocking each other down in the stores just to get one.Department stores literally got a shipment in and told people to stand in line with a number and when their number was called the employees would hand them out and whatever doll they got they got. I remember going to the train station about two weeks before Christmas to pick up my sister from a field trip there was a woman who got off the train with a Toys R Us bag and inside was a cabbage patch kid. People were telling to her go to straight to her car with her keys in hand and put the package in her truck and don’t stop to talk to anyone that’s how mess up this was totally insanity. 🙄🙄🙄

As a kid in the 80's, I could NEVER understand the craze for Cabbage Patch Kids. Especially with boys wanting them! I asked my parents for a VERBOT for Christmas instead!

the reason boys wanted them because they were practicing when they got older and became fathers they could pass them onto their own kids and they were also new type of trend where you weren't cool if you didn't have any and as a young boy I always wanted but could never afford one

Do you still have yours? They were SO cute 🥰 BUT, that baby powder ‘scent’. 🤭😉 My niece’s cousin Grandfather bought one for them each with all the clothes and accessories. That sweet smelling baby powder was something else. They were even harder to find than the full sized ones. Yet he found two because the others sold out. He told his secretary to buy the dolls for them no matter the cost. Found them in NYC or Chicago. They thanked him. He said they’d have them or bust. I told him he could of found hens teeth faster. SO tiny and cute. I think they packed them up the day after 😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣 I cannot remember if they were girls or boys. One had a mint green sleeper on. Have a blessed day today and every day 😊😊😊
