Holy Woodness Jeepdeadness baby!!!! Do you know what JEEP stands for? JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!! I’ve owned several brands of suv and the best was my Toyota 4Runner. Far superior in every way and a real rugged truck but not cheap. The deck is coming out awesome and I give you credit for getting after it with this heat. Thanks for keep us entertained and stay cool big G.

Yay for the gratitude, dude!! 😇🙌 When you put the outer board on 18:29 I believe it's good to check the grain and point the crown out (future ref, not a big deal). Might be an old school rule, or just for the guys who taught me and definitely more important when laying decking/flooring. You should pitch a tent on that deck and sleep over! Sorry about the Jeep.

I’ve built a deck on my house in 1986. I used 2”x10” not treated for the joists. I live in south east Texas. Where Beryl went through. 38 years and the deck boards rotted out but the 2”x10” are still solid. No tape no flashing just deck boards and joists.

My dad grandpa and uncles all had a hand in my learning carpentry, concrete and structural steel work. In my much younger years. I’m 63 now, i wish I had taken the time to taught my daughter and son some skills. Easy carpentry fencing decks ect. I’ve begging my son to get some property and let’s build them a cabin. I’m looking to buy 80 acres. If I get the property I’ll bring the grandkids and we’ll build them a cabin. Our son will get it in the end. We our daughter 2 years ago to breast cancer. I’m recently retired. I’m 62 and in ok shape. I was an operator in a chemical plant for 35 years. These are my long term goals. I think what you do learning as you go is awesome. I’m so blessed that my family was cheap and lots of us (FreeLabor). Ha ha But I learned so much. I’m rusty on some stuff but I have the knowledge for now. Keep On Truckin as we used to say.

Hi, its me again and you doing fine. I just catch up for the last episode so my other post maybe to late now. Where i live we have wooden or aluminium frames and not plastic window frames. I see all KZbinrs using foam around the windows and doors. We always using soft insulation, that bec we install adjustible screws so we can adjust the window ( leave a 1/2 inch gap for insulation all around) and the frames when we install and also later on. You have a wood/plywood house and it gona move later on and with that screws you do not have a problem to adjust, but not if you using foam, also foam expand when using it and can push the frame so it gets harder to open your window/door. Also its good to have a horizontal 2x2 on the outside so you can have horizontal insulation so you get less cold bridges bec you have alot of wood at some places in the wall, end it with the tyvek outside the 2x2. If you like you can have lock panels outside and then you get a ventilated wall. If you are tired to carry plywood you can use the plywood on the outside and use them on the inside. No need for plywood on the outside if you using 2x2 and noggins in the wall. There is a nice tool you can use to get the nails out its a small jaw that you catch the head of the nails with sliding sledge on the tool, very little mark inte wood after using that. assets.cdn.jula.com/preset:jpgoptimized/w:828/Dmm3BWSV3/assetstream.aspx?assetId=13874&mediaformatid=50137&destinationid=10016&lastmodified=20230831141438

Hi, me again. See if you can find fiber cement board/sheet you can use them in the bottom of your floor joists, you lock them with a 2x4 on the bottom of the floor joists, no rats eat that sheet. I normal do that from inside the house when its water proof but you already have the floor on, dont forget to start with the moisture plastic under the floor, now when you work on the ground

I have had a vehicle die before going up a pass, 30 minutes later it started. Next pass it died again. It was some air flow sensor that was failing and i cant recall if it was sticking the valve open or close, either starving the engine of oxygen or giving it too much. got the sensor replaced and never had the issue again.

Graham the jeep was being a little bit of a headache for you but as soon as you left her she was fine, what's up with that? she had a bit of an attitude that day, time to trade her in for something a little more reliable now. The deck is looking great, you could say Graham we are in the wrong buisiness? joist tape seems to be the way to make it rich today and not stealing cars or Amazon stock, wow, they are probibly making twenty dollars on every roll and maybe more if you paid twenty five each, rediculous for them to charge so much. I am looking forward to seeing the windows in the front going in soon, time to seal it up, winter is really just around the bend and we all know how fast the fall arrives once july hits the callendar. How's Dookie? we didn't get to see the little lady and her family, hopefully they are all good.Take care and keep healthy my friend and never stop doing the happy dance. How hot did the Jeep get going up the hill? Some newer vehicles have a shut off mechanism that if they get too hot, they will shut down to prevent engine failure. if you’re going up a hill like that, and you watch your temperature get hot, turn your heater on high and roll down the windows. This will help draw extra heat away from the engine, and hopefully prevent a blown head gasket. If it was something electrical, I know with my previous Chrysler vehicles, disconnect, the battery for at least half an hour for a reset on it. 10 seconds, will not do anything for the Chryslers as they have a battery memory to help prevent losing certain codes. Did the shop find anything wrong with it? And, did it overheat or was it an electrical issue that shut off on you?
@WoodnessGoodness
@WoodnessGoodness Ай бұрын
Those are some good thoughts. Still need to find out. Been away on a trip and still need to get it checked out. Thanks again for the info. And actually I turned off the AC and cranked the heat just like you said haha and it didn’t cut off after it died on the way home! Great minds!!
