I like this cabin/shed. Personally, I would call it a cabin. So many ideas. I would put lots of windows in, especially 1s where u can open them up with screen on the outside. I would also have a micro wood stove 4 heating. Would put a pallet floor down & shore it up, so when u walk on it, it wouldn't have under all the weight. I'd use some of the boards from the pallets 2 lay a floor over the other 1s . Use a composting toilet 4 the bthrm. Camping stove 2 cook on. Solar panels 2 have a smaller fridge & possibly lights...........so many ideas. 2 bad he couldn't come build us 1- that would be so cool, & we'd have r very own home. 🙂

I think I would get a couple rolls of roofing material and use that on the exterior of the shed/building and not worry about painting it but that just me. good job.

I am a journeyman carpenter and I do use pallet wood to make small things. there is nothing wrong with using it. The only thing that you would want to do is replace the drywall screws on the roof as soon as possible. they are not weather resistant and will rust thru in a very short time. The ones I used on my wood fence only lasted a year before the heads started popping off.

I want to do similar, Ill use a timber or concreate base leave full pallets (both sides) then wrap in plastic (both sides) fill the middle with insulation I was going to tin the outside and do strips on the inside but washing yours I may do 3 overlaps on the outside and use it as a insulated room.

Good morning from new Zealand,you did an amazing job I'd love to build Something like this near my boat..looks like a awesome property and my thoughts are it's your land so if you need to clear parts and use the wood it's your right to..anyone who's never lived offgrid or on the land doesn't understand such things..like others do. Have an amazing rest of your week.. It's pretty incredible what can be created from pallets.

Good work. A bit bigger roof sheets should better protect wooden walls from oblique rain. Hope you are doing well there.
@dper11123 жыл бұрын
Liquid nail is an adhesive, not a crack filler. You probably want silicone caulk to fill the gaps, should you care. Also, if you plan on putting real time into that shed, you need to waterproof the base of it. For example, raise it up on concrete pavers and put a layer of sill seal on them. If left as-is, the bottom boards will rot. The style of roof you're talking about, slanting in one direction, is called a "shed roof". The other style, with a beam high in the center, is called a "gable roof". Your shed is around 10 feet wide, and the drop is around 2 feet, so you have a pitch that's 2.4/12. That's fairly shallow for a snowy environment. Build sturdy, and beware the heavy snow loads. Definitely build this up over the next six months.
@chevelleleathers57033 жыл бұрын
That little pallet wood cabin/shed looks really good. You did a great job using what you had that was all left there on the land. Remember ... safety first!!! Thanks for the video, hope that you're feeling better.

Ryobi does a 18 gauge nail gun, you could get one of them and it would save you driving into town to keep buying gas for your gas nail gun and also fuel going back of forth. Plus you already have a battery and charger. Ryobi ONE+ 18G AirStrike Nailer is what it is called in England, not sure if it has the same Name in the USA, i don't own one but the reviews all look positive.
