this is a really helpful video as i actually was thinking in the last year, it would be great to have my own isolated cabin someday with this similar set up. i currently have a mobile synth collection, and have been doing a lot of window shopping and research on different larger synths. it also got me thinking about my own keyboard technique and how that will come into play in my future layout. it's definitely not something i had needed to think about so far, but i appreciate the existence of this video and i suppose i'll cross that bridge when i get to it lol. i listened to the doctor body tracks and your work with alison is fantastic! awesome vocals and everything is so well produced. also listened to bits of the podcast. AI's involvement in music will be interesting to say the least. looking forward to future videos. cheers from boston!

Thanks, Jim! The mobile synth studio idea is such fun! Nice and easy to swap out instruments and try different combos... When you feel it's time to consider a larger instrument, I'd suggest a hard look at a flagship like the 3rd Wave, Muse, or Quantum. Of course they're expensive, but with that added cost comes more power. MUCH more power and flexibility and great technical support, etc. Subbed and looking forward to sharing more!

@@drsynthypants well, with the exception of maybe Hans Zimmer's Moog modular rack, the power of a Sweetwater credit card makes almost every synth affordable 😁🤣 Alison did recommend for me to try the Quantum out. I've definitely had the Muse on my radar since its release and looking at the specs on the 3rd Wave, it does look like an immensely powerful wavetable synth. I thankfully haven't had any serious issues with my synths, but that's an excellent point about tech support. thanks for the sub and good luck on the studio redesign!

Good luck with the studio re-arrangement. Coincidentally I am going through pretty much exactly the same thing so good luck to both of us I guess...

Cheers! Exploring your channel and am LOVING that singing guitar! Will you be sharing your studio re-org on KZbin?

@@drsynthypants Thank you Greg. Yeah, I'm planning on making videos about the studio, music and gear in general. I've got plenty of ideas but as you know, it's a ton of work to film and edit it..
@drsynthypantsАй бұрын
@@Sentientfx1 It certainly is... At any rate, I'm subbed and will be looking forward to what you do.

In my home studio I've been working towards an Analog environment where the computer almost only serves as a tape machine. It's challenging and expensive. But I prefer the sound a lot more. Getting there bit by bit

As you say, it's interesting how the SOUND of the studio changes even when the big adjustments are largely tactile and ergonomic. A slow-ish process but so far it's very much worth it.

yes im drifting the same way since the pc daw decided to wipe 32 years of midi files ,so yes awesome idea, would you record the mixes down to a minidisc or reel to reel ?

I'm mixing down to a Linux machine running Mixbus/Ardour. Audio interfaces with Linux can be tricky - my solution is the RME UFX in class compliant mode so I have access to 20 inputs for tracking.

Its def not in the correct range of price/good graphics sweet spot. Like when you spend a lot more money on a REALLY expensive gaming pc. It gets to a point when spending an extra $2000 for negiable improvements is a waste of money for very little gain.
