Do you have a video that explains how to set up inset cabinet door and drawers? there does not appear to be a setting anywhere i look without changing each door individually in the opening dimension editor. I was hoping to be able to set it for the entire job or assembly.
@myronwittmer9 ай бұрын
From inside of a job, go to the Room settings. In the hardware section, choose an inset hinge from the dropdown. This will inset all doors in the room 3/4.

I did a trial verson of Mozaik it has a lot of good feature's ,one complaint that i had is when posting a question to there user fourm it has to be approved before it actually show's up somtime's taking hour's depending when you post it, delaying my response. When drawing a job, Cabinet vision i can post a question and usually get some kind of a responce within a few minutes weather it be from another user or tec support. I was told to call support instead witch seemed to be somewhat annoying. when they called at the end of the trail i was asked some question about the software and did want to continue, I told here about the fourm how they delayed posting my question, her quik and short answer was that is what tec support was for! maybe this has changed , for that reason declinde to continue.

Great video. Do the catalogs come with each program or are those designs that cabinetmakers have to input themselves?
@myronwittmer2 жыл бұрын
Each program does come with a very simple stock catalog to get you started. It’s easy to modify these to add things on your own as you go.

Hey man. I'm trying to start a cabinets business. Im literally starting... I have little experience but I have a plan for it by getting people and involving contracts. My question is, does this work for me to do the drawings or is it overkill? Thanks.

Hi Myron, great vid Have you ever compared Cabinetsense vs Mozaik? They both are sketchup-based.
@myronwittmer3 жыл бұрын
I have not used Cabinetsense yet. I’ll check in to it. Mozaik started out based on Sketchup but now they have their own 3D system built in instead of relying on Sketchup. It does still integrate with Sketchup though.
@karunlee3 жыл бұрын
@@myronwittmer In my opinion, Cabinetsense's interface is more friendly, but need extra software to make label and CNC file. I ever tried Mozaik for 3 months, thought Mozaik has stronger parameter system. Thanks, for making very informative video :)

I have not found Mozaik to have the value they claim to have and I would say the same for Cabinet Vision unless all your shop does is Kitchens and other boxes. I went with Mozaik about 5 years ago when I first opened my commercial shop. It couldn’t even do countertops. It couldn’t do proper shop drawings for architectural review. It was a frustrating experience. Then I found Cabinet32. Much simpler software with very few fancy features but I wasn’t paying $140/mnth and I could use Sketch pro to complete shop drawings that were acceptable to architects and designers which Mozaik could not do. I had words with the rep about my frustrations with the software and I doubt if I’ll go back since very basic ideas like countertops could not be produced by the software at the time. If your a custom shop like most commercial shops, then Mozaik and similar software is money out the window. You should take a closer look at Cabinet32. Very simple, a little more work but you can actually get shop drawings presentable for review.

This is exactly why we have different solutions available. Everybody has their own preferences and needs. As far as saying cabinet vision is only good for kitchens and other boxes, i would disagree. It took awhile to learn yes, but now I feel very fluent in cabinet vision and I can complete just about whatever needs to be done. I’m not nearly as comfortable in Mozaik but I have seen some very awesome stuff done with it too. My point is this, yes different solutions have their pros and cons, but what it really comes down to is how comfortable you are with your solution. It sounds like Cabinet32 is a good solution for you and it sounds like you’re very good with Sketchup. The average guy building cabinets would say Cabinet32 is way too complicated to do simple tasks and it was hard to make drawings.

Good question, I've used Cabinet Vision with a beam saw but I have not personally used Mozaik with a beam saw. I know Mozaik will work with pretty much any CNC but a beam saw is a bit different. Your best bet would be to reach out to them directly.

Myron, a year after you've made this video, I'd like to know if you still feel the same. I currently use 20-20, but am contemplating a switch to Mozaik for a multitude of reasons. Please reach out to me with your reply. Thanks!

Good question. I do feel the same for the most part. I would still recommend Mozaik for a large majority of shops I talk to. I still love Cabinet Vision and I still like using it better than Mozaik personally because I'm so familiar with CV, but Mozaik's price and ease of use is hard to get past for most shops.

I'm potentially going to be changing jobs, they are just getting into doing cabinets and are looking for someone to help them get started and set up their software. I have 3 years experience with Mozaik and was going to recommend it because of how well it's worked for me, but they've already purchased Cabinet Vision so I know they'll want to utilize that investment. Watching this makes it feel like the transition will be much less painful, and the learning curve may be drastically reduced due to my Mozaik knowledge, so thank you for your video. I would love to see part 2 when it's up, but I may be at the new job by then.

You got this! It’s definitely a similar feel. The biggest thing you will struggle with is how different the “construction setup” is in each software. Everything else feels like the same concept.

How much subscription for CV ? I’m seeing Mozaik is 🔥 with the $50 membership 👌👌
@myronwittmer2 жыл бұрын
I'm not exactly sure what CV's subscription is actually. They did restructure their pricing in the last year or so. You would have to contact CV for a quote if you're curious. Although I can quite confidently say that its not $50:)
