Upgrading system from the horrible cheap stiff OEM cables with these beauties. **NOTE: It looks like CableMod may have changed what's inside the newer kits! Please double check to make sure there are enough cables for your application.** See below for more info.
Also always use specific cables for your PSU. Do not mix and match! Corsair PSU cables will not work on EVGA or Seasonic PSUs and so on. Mixing and matching can damage your system.
Link to CableMod (Modmesh & Modflex thickness specs): cablemod.com/?...
From the Website link above:
"ModFlex is our softer, more flexible sleeving option. ModMesh is our stiffer, more vibrant sleeving option, which is also UV reactive, as well as a more durable sleeving type.
Our SFF cables are a flexible but sturdy unsleeved cable meant for small form factor builds that require shorter cables that take up less space.
Here are the differences in wire measurements:
***NEW Size thickness:
ModFlex: 3.0mm (old thickness was listed as 2.6mm on the website as shown in the video.)
ModMesh: 3.0mm
PRO (ModFlex and ModMesh): 3.4mm
SFF(Unsleeved): 2.1mm/1.8mm"
***NOTE: It looks like CableMod may have changed what's inside the newer kits!
Please double check to make sure there are enough cables for your application.***

Normally, I wouldn't even bother with how the cabling look inside my computer case. First time doing this - turned out pretty good. Worth the time and effort for me. Enjoy. (Note always use specific cables for your PSU. Do not mix and match! Corsair PSU cables will not work on EVGA or Seasonic PSUs and so on. Mixing and matching can damage your system. Also double check where you are buying from. Some places do not sell the full cable kits and are missing cables to complete your build. Click the "... more" under the video to read additional details.)

Looks good did u have to get a extra 8 pin for your graphics card or did your kit come with it ?
@Rob.C
@Rob.C 2 жыл бұрын
@@MrEric4555 ! The kit I got came with extra cables shown in the vid. Unfortunately the newer kits look like they do not come with extra 8 pin cables. FYI - I updated the description below the video to show full system specs that was used. Click on the "Show More" to see. For my Asus Strix 3090 shown I used 3 of the 4 x 6+2 Pin PCI-e Cable (600mm) connectors.

Rob I know this is a year old video but you should never mixup different manufacturers cables on different psus as you suggested arround 4:10. Manufacturers have different pin-outs on the psu side so switching cables could result in a short circuit or worst case a fire.

You are absolutely correct. Never mix and match cables from different PSUs! I realized the mistake I made saying that and added a note in the description and stickied comment: "Note always use specific cables for your PSU. Do not mix and match! Corsair PSU cables will not work on EVGA or Seasonic PSUs and so on. Mixing and matching can damage your system."

Sup bro, this is Korean viewer here. Excuse my noob English, but I have a question. So overall, do you recommand buying it or not? because I'm really agonize about it... do you think it's worth it? Thanks for reading.

Hi, I watch a lot of international Movies and TV shows with English subtitles. Some of my favourites are Korean :) Your English is much better than my Korean. It really depends. It's a personal subjective thing since this is just a hobby after all. A few things to consider before doing this: 1. Cost - can you get these cables in your country at a reasonable cost? (from CableMod website, Local computer shops, Amazon, Aliexpress ...) 2. Make sure to get genuine cables or really good high rated alternatives! Make sure to get the right cables for your PSU - Power Supply Unit and computer system. They are PSU specific, do not mix and match them. 3. Potential defects, system malfunction and failures - adding any new part or changing out your system might cause something wrong to happen. 4. If the cables are defective and do not work, then can you get a refund and / or replacement quickly? 5. Time - it takes time and effort to do. Are you using your computer for work and can your system be down for a few hours in order to do this? It was worth the effort for me since I could get the full cable package at the time I did this. However, the funny thing is, a year later my Corsair HX1000 PSU died. I have had a dead Corsair PSU in the past in a completely different system so I am not lucky with Corsair PSUs. I sent in the dead Corsair HX1000i PSU for a warranty replacement but needed my system back up and running quickly to get work done. So I bought a new EVGA SuperNova Titanium 850 T2 PSU instead. Well these cables no longer work since the cables are PSU specific - cannot work with the EVGA. Will only work with certain specific Corsair PSU series. I had to use the stiff ugly cables that came with my new EVGA PSU. Corsair did eventually send a warranty replacement for the dead PSU. A brand new HX1000i. So now I have it and the CableMods sitting here not being used. I don't have the time to pull my system down right now and might just sell the new HX1000i PSU and CableMod cables. Haven't decided yet.

@@Rob.C Howdy feller, sorry for the late response. I purchased the Pro ModMesh Kit from CableMod referring to your opinion and have been using it satisfactorily so far. Thank you so much for answering me in detail. Lastly, I'm very happy to hear that you like Korean movies. I'm sure you've seen "Old Boy," but if you haven't, I highly recommend it!

@Rob C Holy fucking shit you saved my LIFE with the whole "stripped down kit" thing. Are the stripped down kits with fewer cables still Cablemod official products?

As long as they are from a trusted supplier and labeled Cablemod they should be the real thing. Gotta be careful where you get them from. Different places are now selling their own brands. Not sure how good those are. If you find a set double check the Cablemod site and compare the sizes and lengths you need. Take your time and have fun with the build.

You got the fan on the D15 mounted on the wrong tower, which will cause turbulence. It should be mounted on the rear tower, so the front of the fan is clear from the first tower.
@Rob.C
@Rob.C 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about that before installing it that way. I have been running the system hard for a while now and no issues with CPU cooling at all. The current fan setup works. Which is great. Later I'll experiment with putting it on the rear tower to see.

Try checking the main CableMod site: store.cablemod.com/ Also sometimes online sites like Amazon sell cables that you can use. Just make sure to use the designated cable(s) specific to your PSU. Do not mix and match from other PSU manufacturers. The internal wiring can be different and cause issues with your PC.

HI Chris, it looks like CableMod may have changed what comes inside the newer kits as well as a slight thickness change! I got my kit from V&L Canada and it came with extra cables. I don't see the kit I bought being sold anymore on their website. I updated the description below the video to show full system specs that was used in the video. Click on the "Show More" to see. I have the Asus Strix 3090. (So I used 3 of the 4 x 6+2 Pin PCI-e Cable (600mm) connectors to connect the 3090 to the PSU.) If they did change what comes in the kits then it could be a supply issue and now consumers will have to buy additional PCI-e cables. Not good at all. This is disappointing.

I have stock clocks for the CPU. See the CPU benchmarking / Thermal paste and CPU Cooler install vid if you haven't already seen it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5KugX5udpuCosk The 5950X hits 5Ghz on some cores when it needs to. Just was not worth the extra heat and system stress for only a few extra fps in games. I also need a very stable system for long hours of work and rendering so left it at stock clocks.
