Holy fricking crap. When Conrad is reading from Foley's book...I REMEMBER IT! at like 27 minutes in the podcast, I remember the Excedrin line. I was in high school back in like maybe 2005-6, and I had an in school suspension so I had to sit in an all-day detention for like 7 hours, so I just read Foley's first biography and I remember the Excedrin thing stayed with me all these years...at just how lame it was. I mean how crazy is it that they bring up Foley's book on a Foley podcast, but I still remember it well...I remember that in school suspension fondly...after it sucking ass, of course. Also, I bought my Foley book at a used book store, so Foley never saw a dime of that book sale...but it doesn't mean I don't love my old man.

I can only imagine how tough those final few months were for Mick. Being forced back to TV despite being seriously hurt dealing with both the severed ear and the bad back. While also deciding you're gonna leave a 6 figure job prioritizing your health and family. Glad to know it eventually got better for Mick and I'm glad he's still with us today, bumps, bruises and all.

💯 % truth What Mick is saying about the images/imagery of injuries and post-amputee loss depression. I served in Iraq 🇮🇶 and as an additional duty to my normal Transportation Management stuff was security at the base hospital.... the things I saw were burned into my memory. In my civilian life I got a good TBI falling from a ladder onto my head onto concrete! I was knocked out 60 minutes! I came home that night from the ER and I felt fine the next day but got dizzy 😵 on a walk. In 2001 we really didn't know as much about concussions as we suddenly did in like 2005 or so.... (military updated concussion protocols due to Rise of attacks but also rise of survival from due to better armor so awareness was rising exponentially). I experienced the I'm okay, to the come down he described.... I slept 18 hours.... oyyyy
