My gosh! We’ve just finished our second viewing of our video and it’s so good! We can’t get enough 😂 We’re so glad you got to try different things! We knew you’d like the Darrell Lea cookies and cream, it’s delicious 🥳 To answer all your questions.. We got married when we were holidaying in NYC because it wasn’t legal in Australia yet (same sex marriage was legalised in 2017 😱). We got married on January 4th, so the Christmas decorations were still up. Home Alone 🤣 Erin was the writer of the letter. She is meticulous in anything she does! She actually said she thought it was a little messy 🤪 Cadbury is definitely our favourite chocolate. Darrell Lea do white chocolate, chocolate covered liquorice, and some other specialty things very well, but we aren’t actually fans of most of their other chocolate blocks. We hadn’t tried the Fruit Tingles block. And yes, totally fine to show our photos. Sebastian and Tilly were equally chuffed to have been featured.

just giving a heads up. LifeSavers are actually an American creation/company that has been around for over 111 years. for many decades they were nothing but hard candies in a paper and foil roll with mint like flavors with speariment, peppermint, and wintergreen along with a rainbow of fruit and other flavors like butter rum, butterscotch, and rootbeer just to name a few. its only been in the past 10 years or so that they have ventured into the Gummy variations of their candies. and in some markets they do collabs like you have seen with Darryl Lea in Australia. but LifeSavers are known around the world especially since WWII when LifeSavers were included in many K and C rations for the troops in the armed forces.

Americans also have Cad berry's too but it's not the same as the British brand. It's like how Japan has Kit-kats and other places around the world have kit-kats. Im sure they have their own Live savers brand as well

Fruit Tingles were originally made by Allens in Australia, but like so many of our lollies and chocolate bars, ownership has been jumping from one manufacturer to another, as the older companies close down and their products get either bought or deleted by the new owners, often Nestle or Darrel Lea or a company unrecognisable by name. When I was a kid, we had Rowntrees, MacRobertson’s, and loads of other family businesses who crashed in the 70s and 80s as bigger corporations bought everything they could get!

Fruit tingles in chocolate is revolting. I got it last year and threw it out! ick. So wrong lol. I noticed at Easter this year they had a huge fruit tingles/darrell lea egg for sale. Gross. Clinkers are my favourites!! I bite a tiny bit of chocolate off to see the colours, then I save the pink ones for last as they are the best haha. Oh and I think it is hilarious when people try to do an Australian accent. The shrimp thing annoys me, so I was happy when said it was prawn haha.

As an Australian sometimes I’m a little disappointed in the Aussie snacks people send you!! I swear there’s sooooo much better confectionary choices than some of these Daryl Lea! They have so many flavours too!!

Our goal was to send them things they had never tried before which was a bit of a challenge considering they have been sent about 6 other Australian boxes (so had already tried a lot of other Australian chocolate) and also have a lot of what we have already in the UK.

Loved this. I have tried lots of those including the Clinkers- speaking of Freeze dried sweets. I would love to see you trying the range of freeze dried British sweets that are out there. My faves are the freeze dried werthers and blackjacks. Love to see you guys trying a good range 🙏

@@ThisWithThem ooh so many online sellers. I have had from a few places a couple of Etsy sellers and lots of websites. If uoi Google freeze dried sweets you will have such a range of options. The mixed bags are a good option but uou can get very specific things too such as freeze dried cathedral city cheese shavings. I have definite favourites. Black Jacks, Werthers and Fruit Salads are my faves but it is such an interesting experience and the taste and texture and definitely different. I do hope you get some. It would make such a great video. Especially if you showed the comparison article as our friends from around the world may not be familiar with the original either 🙂 xx

Lifesavers have always been hard candies with a hole in the middle. Fruit Tingles and Fruit Pastilles have been taken over by Lifesavers. Fruit Pastilles are jubes covered in a sugar coating. Pascall’s Fruit Bon Bons were a bar of hard candy with a chewy centre, but they’ve been gone for quite a long time. ☹️

Your peppermint Aero has a lot more sodium in it than ours! I bought some online, not realising it was made in UK and so I was shocked at the amount of sodium! Ours has about one sixth of that.

Lifesavers are known as polos here in the uk. Like the uk, they are made in mint and fruit and are a hard sweet with a hole in the middle.

The accent thing goes the other way too, because we in the uk don’t like it when Aussies and Americans assume we all have a Dick Van Dyke accent from Mary Poppins, or speak like the royal family. Like here, in Australia accents change a lot depending on where they live.
