I suggest SW2012 or later--2012 has command search good for beginners. Also, you really just need standard to get started, professional gives you toolbox parts (you can get most from McMaster Carr) and Photoview 360 rendering, and premium gives you routing of pipes and wires, motion analysis and surface flattening. The other items each high package gives are typically not for beginners.
