in south africa, the cost to purchase a workstation-base laptop for CAD is above R 30 000, which above the price range to the average consumer living for the middle class. I bet is worth the purchase anyway for to do lucrative projects for clients.😃

For student use you can just use an ultrabook, I am doing an internship for a company where i use my 6year old ultrabook with integrated graphics. It works fine. As long as you are not doing complex simulations it will be fine

The amount of ram is more important than the graphics card. Get a laptop with at least 16gb of ram. I have 8 and I must close my web browser because there's not enough when it's open.
