That lamp is absolutely superb! I gasp when I saw the lampshade! What a piece of art! It was especially exciting to see the fabulous 18th Century Dressmaking book so kindly sent by another one of your adoring Patrons. Dear Stephanie, as I have occupied myself with sewing, embroidery and interior decor/holiday embellishment of my own home while every day through Covid, but especially during Advent, I find myself daydreaming of waking up vaccinated and a ticket to France under my pillow! Maybe it can happen before too far into 2021 that I can travel to visit you all! I would especially love to assist you in sewing any gown concept you have , along with coordinating cushions etc. as I am a couture level seamstress, and ran a custom drapery business for many years. Makes me so excited that you received a package from Saint Andrews...a town an hour away from where I live (and where I was born and raised.) This town has a very specical space in my heart and is very meaningful to me. And it is simply gorgeous - coined, Saint Andrews by the sea. As it is right on the ocean. The NY Times has written pieces about this coastal gem and it was voted the best place to visit in Canada. Made me excited to see! Cheers and Happy New Year x

I stayed overnight there about 5 yrs ago in a B&B (can't remember the name just now) while traveling up to Prince Edward Island. Had planned a dinner and walk around but a delay at the border had my friends and I about three hours too late. I would definitely love to travel through there again and actually see everything in daylight. The B&B was very old and beautiful.

Great idea! My local grocery store had some beautiful birdbaths last Spring made from thick glass and came with a metal stand. The glass was coloured and swirly, do you know what I mean? The glass was a gently concave bowl shape about 16 inches in diameter. I didn’t buy one then but if I see them again I am definitely getting one. (Now I’m not thinking of sending one overseas but I’m just agreeing with you that something like it would make a beautiful gift for Mummy.)

Things are meant to be used not hidden away until a special event. Nothing is more special than time with friends & family so use your finest china, wear your best clothes, drink the good wine because those objects are nothing but items used to create memories for the ones you leave behind. I love that Stephanie wears the dresses and sets the tables and sits on all the furniture she understands that's the only way to give objects life and life meaning.

Such fun! But, one of my childhood nightmares was being served and expected to eat and enjoy brown Norwegian cheese. This was served by the hands of my best friend's Norwegian mother. I absolutely loved everything else she made such as homemade donuts with cardamon and crepes with marmalade or cinnamon and brown sugar, BUT, that brown cheese has seriously got to be an acquired taste which didn't happen for me. Glad you love it Marie!

It is a cheese originaly made out of goat milk and called goatcheese =geitost. It is sweet and caramelish flavor. It is often eaten with knekkebrød = a hard dry bread/cracker. You need a chees cutter/slicer to get it thin enough. We love the cheese here in Norway. Lucky Marie Wiik 😇
