I just found this channel and idk if you guys have reacted to them yet, but Breaking Benjamin is one of my favorites and I think you would enjoy them. They have so many great songs, but I'd recommend "Failure", "Dance With the Devil" (make sure it's the original version, not the Aurora version), "Diary of Jane" or the trilogy of music videos in their Ember album, "Red Cold River", "Torn in Two", and "Tourniquet". In that order, the videos tell a story and the songs are amazing. I actually got my k-pop loving friend into them and "Red Cold River" is one of her favorites by them.

@@Texas_Swift Oh stop. Your conspiracy theories hurt those who are actually close to him and take away from the very real dangers that depression has on people. As someone who also suffers from severe depression I can 100% tell you it's more likely that he committed suicide than he was murdered and people covered it up for no fucking reason (He wasn't a person of power like a government official or owner of a huge company). As someone who suffers mental health issues I am saying this genuinely and out of good intentions: Please go get some help before things spiral too far out of control and spend less time on the internet where lies are spread more than anywhere.

I always heard this song and it's pain in it. my love of all things metal. really got me checking lyrics and seeing the words and hearing the emotions behind it. the best music comes from a true feeling. the first time I heard it. I knew what I heard was a ton of emotions in one and tons of power to the emotions. strangely for me, this song is a top 5 or at least top 10. it actually has helped me act release all emotion at once.

About you wondering whether he wrote the lyrics- I wondered about that for a long time, but last year one of his bandmates (Mike Shinoda) mentioned in an interview that he wrote most of the lyrics, not Chester. However, Mike also said multiple times in the past that he never suffered from depression and that sometimes he would write songs from Chester's point of view about stuff they talked about, so it is likely this song is still about Chester and his struggles.

I've always loved LP and thought Chester was one of a kind in many ways with unreal talents. But going back and listening to a lot of the songs I grew up to and listening to the lyrics knowing what happen, it's like a story he wrote to everyone. He told us to never forget him, that he needed help, so many things. It's quite sad but I'll always remember and I'll never stop listening to LP.

I appreciate this video. What sucks is his support system was his best friend Chris Cornell. And when Chris ended his life, Chester got worse and ended his life on his best friend's birthday. That made it even sadder to me. Thank yall and I hope that tidbit helps some to someone.

That's how it is with depression, not everyone is this severe but yeah. I feel the same way, days are laid to waste because it feels like an elephant is sat on your chest so you can't get up, and you feel guilty for wasting it. At the end of the day you really do just say "put me out of my misery" I've said it many times. It's so crappy depression takes away your joy and your mind really does convince you that you're alone honestly..

The worst part is that Chester isn’t asking anyone to help him, he’s not asking for someone to say something good to him, he’s asking why nobody CAN help him. Nothing anyone says is helping, and it’s starting to feel like nobody cares. He’s frustrated because he knows theres something wrong, either with him or with what others are telling him. Nothing is “clicking” for him to get him feeling better. It’s a cry for help from someone, anyone who can finally end the pain for him, somehow, someway.

There is a difference between feeling bad/being depressed, and being chronical ill with mental illness. Chronical mental illness is real, like cancer, and its fatal. Even if the illness does not push to a point of ending it, the toll it takes on your body, the medicine, the isolation the stress, all these things takes years of your life. And that is the meaning of a terminal illness. If you die before than you should as a result of your illness its terminal. And Chronical illness is not a choice, its not something you can treat away by talking, and often medicine does not cure you, just as it is with cancer. The difference is however, with cancer and things like it, you get to live a life, have a family, happiness, you get to live your life before it ends. With chronical illness you might be alive for longer, you might not, but you never really get to be alive, every day is a fight, love and happiness is something you only see in others, and then get more hurt over not being able to have, even if people try to give it to you. Chronical mental illness is not only a terminal illness, it also take away your ability to be alive while you are living.

False. Bennington wrote this about his alcoholism after returning from rehab. He explained in a 2008 Loveline Radio interview: "I wasn't leaving my house. I would shack up in my closet in the dark and shake all day. I would wake up and have a pint of Jack Daniel's to calm down, then I'd pop a bunch of pills and go back in my closet and fucking freak out. I was a mess. I was falling through windows, having seizures and going to hospital the whole time. It was fucking ridiculous. I was a total wreck.". There's a big misconception that Mike wrote every single LP song and that factually isn't true.
