Very minor differences between the two. It saw a major overhaul for 2015.

I have a question: We are looking at a 2012 Escalade ESV Premium in Europe with about 35T miles on it. We are looking at exclusively as a towing vehicle for a 7600Lbs travel camper trailer about 35' long. We think it's got a wheel base about 10" longer and power (6.2L engine) similar to a Mercedes GL500, but heavier by 300Lbs. How stable are they on the road (American cars tend to be somewhat soft)? We are worried about swaying coming from the trailer. Is it powerful enough to haul it's own weight and the 7600Lbs of the trailer? Anybody with experiences towing large trailers with an 2012 ESV?? Thanks!... J-D.

This generation of the ESV has a tow capacity of 7400 lbs so you'd be pushing it a bit. You might be better off going for the Suburban or Yukon XL (which are essentially the same) in 2500 configuration which goes up to 9600 lbs. The Escalade does have a soft feel but I think it would still tow better than a GL500
