Howlin Wolf was one of the only band leaders that did it right from that time period. Fair pay, insurance, paid into their SSI, and didn't allow any drugs or alcohol use when touring. This film got me into blues music. 23 years old and i was researching Mudy Waters, Little walter and howlin wolf. was not disappointed. love this genre of music

I love Muddy but he had nothin' on Chester Burnett. The Wolf not only had the voice everyone wanted, he also had the guitar player everyone wanted. Hubert Sumlin. He played it just like The Wolf wanted it. Fingers only and plenty loud. The world will never see such wonderful musicians like these again.

Hubert's great. No doubt. But Muddy himself and Jimmy Rogers in his band were no slouches either, especially Muddy playing slide.

This man literally had the body movements of a Wolf he put in the mind of a wolf

The guitar amplifier was meant to act up. It produces the effect we all heard today. Rough and grungy. And Hownlin' Wolf's voice is an evolution that's ahead of his time. It's emotional. It's powerful! Even while typing this, I'm listening to his music. Moanin' at Midnight.
