Thank you for posting this on Caen. I spent a week there last October in a beautiful Airbnb a block from the tourist information center. Very walkable city with nice people and plenty of young people gathered at the outdoor cafes. Regrettably to many were smoking. It’s remarkable how beautiful the city is because it was destroyed during WW2. Still so much of the original architecture has been restored. A few of the original buildings still remain. Folks at the TI are most helpful. I took a local bus to Honfleur for a Saturday day trip. Didn’t go to the D day beaches but did spend several hours in the Caen Normandy museum. It a must visit and a local bus takes you there for less than 2€. Quartier du Vaugueaux is central with plenty of good cafes, bistros etc. I highly recommend going to Caen. Joseph.
