Yay! It can be a bit overwhelming when you are just starting! Focus on doing your healer tasks first, and then find time to think about cards when the group is safe, and then you will get better with practice!

If my math is correct, It's worth noting that Aspected Helios' healing potency (250+5*150=1,000) is greater than that of Benefic II (800), and is also more MP efficient.

This is only true once you reach level 85 and learn Enhanced Healing Magic. Before that, Aspected helios is 200+5*100 = 700, and Benefic 2 is just 700! ^^ But aside from that you would be right!

Just picked this up because I wanted to try a new healer class and this was the only one I could have access to currently and... holy shit it feels way more fun than white mage lol It feels less clunky to play in lower lvls and it's kinda similar to whm at lvl 30 except with a mechanic to pay attention to... I just wonder how it'll be at higher levels but I'll figure it out later, thanks for the guide 😋

To your question though: before you get divination play the cards whenever you want, but make sure you play them so you can draw every minute on the minute. With divination, play the defensive cards as you like, but make sure to play a damage buff card, draw, another damage buff card into divination every other minute 😊 It sort of relates to the old card bursts in a way like that!

11:28 I thought Synastry would be useful to heal a single target more. Like if you put it on the tank then cast Benefic II if they're low.

This is true. Generally, that is probably the one situation you'd use it in, and, at least in my experience, you'll cast one or two benefic II in the buff duration! 😅 It is better than nothing of course! So good observation!

That all depends on you 😊 some players like a challenge as their first job in a role, and astrologian is generally considered the hardest healer to play by most. But if you really want to play astrologian first, go for it!

9:40 "this can make using LIGHTSPEED while your tank is pulling a lot more lucrative" Lightspeed which is a level 6 action reduces the cast time of all your spells by 2.5 seconds while it is active 😁

Grumpy tank here, casting any kind of Heal over Time on your tank BEFORE a large mob pull is a bad idea, as the moment the tank pulls, there's a short window where all threat lands on you, the squishy delicious healer. While this isn't a big deal in lower level content, at higher level or during wall pulls, this can either lead to your death, or make mob herding difficult as mobs will go off towards you instead of where the tank wants them to go. Which is annoying and time wasting, which makes tanks grumpy. Good rule of thumb is to wait at least 1 CD (2.5 sec) after the tank pulls, letting them gain aggro before casting a HoT. Unlike you, the tank is not squishy, and will live long enough for them to get aggro before casting a HoT.

This can happen if the healer happens to cast a heal right the instant the pack is pulled. However, heal over time HEALING no longer generates any enmity, so this is only really an issue if the tank somehow misses all the mobs as they run for the healer. As long as you don't miss all of them, even a healer can tank a mob or two for a bit 😉 The only enmity hots generate now is negligible amount when the buff is initially applied. Hilariously, the tank can generate approximately the same amount of enmity by casting rampart for example 😁 but I get what you are trying to say, I just don't think it is anything necessary to worry that much about! 😊
