Well deserved win by CRB. If Ahly got something in that match, it was going to be one of those where the defence conjured something for the team CRB played with a sense of urgency, attacked the entire match but hardly entered the final third due Ahly’s defence. Now the group is interesting. I was also impressed by CRB winger Meziane , he was a marvel to watch. I went to watch Sundowns in Durban the other week, I think the style of play has changed that much, maybe the only change is the time the players spend with the ball, I think they cycle it a little quicker now, which doesn’t allow the opposition to restructure defensively

Fun fact. The 2 goals Orlando Pirates have conceded in the CCL were both set pieces.

Our style at Mamelodi Sundowns has Not changed. We may have only scored 5 goals in 4 games but we're still playing relatively good football just not clinical enough. Like many others you haven't actually watched us just judged based on what the results are and Cardoso's history.

As long as Sundowns beats Al Ahly with the 4 and 5 you should be fine with him and me he's just concerned about the level of offense in comparison to other coaches that were very capable

Hayi Bro Sundowns is very different from that of Rhulani and Pitso. The is no structure, no fluidity, no defence plan

In all honesty, CRB didn't defend this game , they attacked all game and controlled the whole match and deserved the win

I'm here as a Sundowns fan and to be honest with you a lot has changed at the club in terms of the coaches but when it comes to our teams DNA of playing attractive football and scoring a lot of goals that has changed but it leaves a bitter sweet taste in our mouths. I guess at the moment we are just happy with a win more than playing attractive football. I say this because for the first time in a couple of years we have a team that challenging Sundowns for the league title at the same time we have high aspirations to win the CAFCL so a positive result is more important whether we win by 1 goal to nil is more important at this stage than playing attractive football.

Sundowns is no longer the same, if you are a nuetral you cant watch their game without dosing off. Cardoso is a defensive coach but Sundowns doesnt have players to suit that kind of game. The defence was lucky not to concede a minimum of 2 goals per match only to be saved by Keeper Onyango. The way Esperance played vs Sundowns last season is how Sundowns play now. But for now we are winning with luck and its ok until we start losing.

Downs style hasn't changed a bit..Still very much traditional piano and shoe-shine with some tactical tweaks here and there. Anyway fair assessment on SA teams this time around. Big up Admin💪🏾

Sundowns philosophy or style hasn't changed. We still play the same way. Under Cardoso we were exposed defensively in the past 2 matches and could've been worse. Offensively we still created a lot of possibilities but let down by poor decision making. Against Stellenbosch we could have scored 6 in the 1st half. It's incorrect to conclude that we are defensive minded due to 1 nil scoreline. Coach Miguel hasn't really had time to implement his philosophy. The main thing that he has brought in the team is the right attitude, mindset and commitment on and off the ball. The rest is yet to be come or seen

Not at all. We are not happy that the Sundowns coach is winning ugly. With this approach he has no future at Sundowns. We even have the name of the flair football we are accustomed to called "Shoeshine and Piano" - hence the nickname Brazilians. So, the day he starts losing games - fans will be calling for his head as he is changing the style of play developed over decades since the formation of the club.

I think Sundowns are in a position where we need to get points on the board now. Domestically and in the Champions League. I don't think Cardoso is a coach we should build around, but for the rest of this season and for the Club World Cup he is the best man for the job. I hate to compare coaches, but there's no other way of getting the point across: Pitso was the last coach we had that could do what Miguel is doing. We were able to grind out results, we had plan A, B, C and maybe D. Under Rhulani there was no balance and the QF & SF last year show that. Yanga should've knocked us out the same way Petro knocked us out the previous year. We were so so lucky not to be knocked out against Yanga last year, they totally outplayed us all because we were already figured out. If that was a boxing bout we lose that unanimously. In conclusion, Sundowns is a way better team (player for player) than Taraji. So I expect Cardoso to do with this Sundowns team what he couldn't do with his Esperance team last season: Beat Al Ahly and win the championship. We're the best team in Africa player for player, and what we needed was a coach who can grind out results. Clubs in the Champions League are not always there to outplay you, but they're there to grind out the result needed. A Champions League win, Betway Premiership win, and Round of 16 in the World Cup is what I expect out of Miguel Cardoso. Then we get rid of him and rebuild.

The pirates coach is not honest about playing every three days For me as a sundowns fan the team haven't change the identity we still playing the someway we are happy that we no longer give teams opportunities to hurt us
@nehrouelarbi51213 күн бұрын
You are so biased. You are part of the communication machine that wants to make of Al Ahly the only beast in the continent. You talked about the Ahly s series of 27 matches undefeated making of it the biggest achievements, while Al Ahly just beat the record of 26 unbeaten matches that was held by Esperance e Tunis (between 218 and 2019). If you want to make yourself real professional try to be more unbiased and objective.

The Orlando Pirates coach is not telling the truth about playing games every 3 days. Whenever Orlando Pirates plays CAFCL matches they postpone their local matches by a week or more and as we speak they last played a week ago.

@@Mdubesha I will never be envious of Pirates. This gentleman said that he's been listening to Jose Riveiro's interviews and he heard him mention that Pirates is playing every 3 days which is a lie and we all know that. Pirates' games are being postponed by a week to give them more time to prepare for the CAFCL.
@ra.theberathebe19183 күн бұрын
@ElvisMutuma.... Pirates, Stellies & Downs gets postponed for obvious reason..So what's your problem with that? Have you ever seen/hear South Africans🇿🇦 complain about postponement of Kenyan matches?😂
@elvismutuma20083 күн бұрын
@@ra.theberathebe1918 This thing of postponing games only started this season because the chairman's team is now participating in CAFCL😂 Why is it last season the PSL never postponed any of Sundowns' matches and they were forced to play every 2/3 days. Do you remember the Carling Black Label match Sundowns lost to Ts Galaxy when Sundowns' players had just come back from international duty? They refused to postpone that match. What about the match between Sundowns and Esperance? Sundowns played Esperance on a Saturday in Tunisia flew back to SA on a Sunday, played a mid-week local PSL game on Tuesday and faced Esperance on Friday? Anyway don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about the benefit Pirates brings to the table by participating in CAFCL I was just highlighting that the Pirates coach is not being truthful that Pirates is playing matches every 3 days
@Clifford.Morale4 күн бұрын
Pirates get preferential treatment for their league games the coach is not honest about playing every 3 days 😔😔😔😔😔😏😏😏😏 Their chairman is the chairman of the league and he postpones their games to about a week for them to prepare for the champions league and that will put them under pressure in the future
