Totally agreed. I was disappointed in the kids meal. I should have known though. Disney’s kid’s meals are awful. But for some reason my brain thought it would be a smaller portion of the same chicken, because both Amy’s chicken and the kids chicken were listed as “Roasted Chicken”

That kid meal was puny on the chicken and the white rice was so plain. The adult meals looked good, but I think other dining choices would be better for families with younger children. Looking forward to future food reviews. Thanks!!

Agreed. We’d have been better off buying them an adult meal to split. A lot of places you go (outside of Disney) just have a smaller portion of the same food when both adult and child’s menus have the same thing. Not here. That kid’s chicken was pitiful.

It opens February 17th. I believe they are doing media previews right now. Unfortunately, I’m not large enough to be on Universal’s radar, but I do hope to go at some point. I was actually going to book a visit on the 17th with my family, but we changed our minds as soon as we discovered the opening date. Universal is too far away for us to have it as a regular part of our theme park rotation, so if we go, I want a day when it’s going to be less crowded so we can enjoy the park as a whole. All that to say, yes, I’ll cover it at some point, but it won’t be opening day.

What's your party size? The average size is 4, and so that's the amount they have the most reservations for. I just checked about 4 dates in the next 1-2 weeks and they all had available reservations for the party of 2 and part of 4 sizes. I even checked for tomorrow. If your party is larger than 4, there might not be availability. You can always try the walk-up waitlist. It's not 100% guaranteed to be available, but it usually is.

That chicken looked small buy my son doesn't eat too much. Was gonna ask if I may could they do 2 fruits for my son, cuz he'd rather eat alot ov strawberries, and were beignets on the menu? Thank you

Yes! That’s actually exactly what we did for the second kids meal that I didn’t film (guess I should have!). My youngest loves strawberries and we got him two sides of those instead. Beignets are not on the menu, but you can get them right next door at the Mint Julip Bar either before or after your meal. Just place a mobile order. It’s less than a minute walk away.

@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you. We will be going for spring break. I have a ADR for Blue Bayou and was gonna switch to the Cafe because I worry my son will think it's too dark. Also I'd have more flexibility since I had 1 time to choose for Bayou and the Cafe (as ov today) is open for most times.

Used to be my favorite place to eat in Disneyland, but they stopped serving the shrimp and grits so no longer.

Yeah, they’ve changed their menu a few times. I miss when you could just order a basket of pommes frites, now it only comes with a meal, and it’s not the shoe string kind. They’re more like steak fries.

Never have I eaten there. Still haven't tried the Monte Cristo. Want too. Everything looked good. Except the the kids' meal. You said it best, pitiful. Very plain. At least have some sauce for the chicken. And the fruit. Needed to be more. And a variety. One day I will eat there.
