Zeus Customs have outdone themselves yet again. It is surprising to see a bike that looks so different from stock, even though the body dimensions were not extensively modified. If I had a chance to let a shop build a bike for me, it would definitely be Zeus Customs.

Beauty. Yes, definitely, beauty. But something rough and primal as well. So fine! Thank you, Racer. And thank you, too, for mentioning the bolt-on rear frame and suggesting that someone might want to do an after-market version --- or versions. The Zeus Customs examples you present seem to always be very refined, well thought out designs. The Benelli is a very nice, refined sounding engine and an excellent base upon which to build a Café bike. I’m a little surprised at the ‘chain drive’ shifter. That’s new to me! In the world of Café, it seems out of place, but, certainly is creative and unique! As always, thank you for Racer TV, the Café Racers only choice! Best regards my friend. Have a wonderful weekend!

Bom dia amigo! Duas belas motos: a original e a customizada. De fato, parece que a fábrica pensou nos seus clientes que gostam de customizar. Gostei muito do conjunto banco/rabeta e do farol e concordo que a parte traseira, em especial a balança, e belíssima. Pena que no Brasil não há presenca da Benelli....
@RACER_TV6 жыл бұрын
Obrigado amigo Helio.

I understand what you said. You are right. I should mention something about the tires. My opinion is the same like in other similar projects. I think the only thing I do not like about this project are the horrendous rider's shoes. But the bike is something I've been thinking and writing for a long time, the future of cafe racer projects are motorcycles with a rear monoshock, although people who are a bit purist like me do not like it, the fact remains uncontroversial, there are more and more motorcycles with that kind of rear suspension. Even I own a motorcycle with monoshock, a Pulsar 200 NS, in modification treatment for two years. The solutions are not simple in this type of motorcycle, but a success in the case of the Benelli Leoncino 500 is that fabulous rear swing arm, which is released from everything that conceals it to the point of going unnoticed in the original model and it almost naturally becomes the focal point of the bike. The ugly escape disappears and a totally new retro system gives a flavor to the old days of the ton up boys and the original caffs. Zeus Custom is a brand that is leaving its own stamp in an increasingly competitive design style. Bravo, bravisimo! A little delayed in my usual comment for a two day ride through out my state with a group of motorcyclist
@RACER_TV6 жыл бұрын
Hola Alejandro, Initially, i thought that something happened to you, because of the lack of your usual comment on fridays. I am glad everything is ok with you. what you said about Monoshocks, i still think that 2 shocks looks better on most retro/classic style motorcycles of today. But i also recognize that there is some charm in some monoshock motorcycles. Like you said, this Benelli is probably the best example of all. The swing arm looks beautiful, and the central shock is still visible. A perfect combination. :) Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Saludos.

As usual, another excelent quality video!. This little cutie is really impressive with that sound, indeed . However I notice the clearance between the final drive chain and the chassis a little bit tiny...so I would not use her aggressively just in case. Or is it that perhaps we medium aged fellows just take it easier now?? LOL. Thanks for this Leoncino!...
@RACER_TV6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the the clearance between the final drive chain and the chassis is very small. But this also happens with most similar motorcycles of today. That is why they usualy put a smal plastic/ruber protection, betwuin the chain and the chassis. Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.

That seat, so sexy! But I cannot stop looking at the chain rear set for the shifter. I mean it stands out... but not so much in the good way vs a connecting rod? Chains are not so great if not under constant tension and tensioners usually only work in one way. So you will always have that slack to pick up first when changing gears. So it would feel... sloppy?
@RACER_TV6 жыл бұрын
Well, i am not entirely sure, but I think using the chain on the rear set for the shifter, it wont have the same problems of the transmission chains, because it is not subject to the same efforts, therefore, if the initial work was done correctly with a nice good tension, it will work goo on both ways. Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
@richardcovello53676 жыл бұрын
Markus, Agreed! Looks like a fool-proof recipe for missed shifts. Definitely an example of form over function, and antithetical to the original cafe racer philosphy. Rest of the bike looks typical Zeus.
@quadsman115 жыл бұрын
Almost has a sound of a flat four. And almost a two stroke twin, especially at a higher rpm range from what I can hear. I am wondering about the torque curve ? And where does it compare to the more conventional crank of the Honda ? Does anyone have this performance data ? Now then, let's get on to the styling ! It absolutely looks great as always from Zeus ! Will very likely stir the creative appetite for other builder's imaginations ! Should be very interesting to see what happens from here !
