Great video and perfect timing..I am just finishing up the stator/rectifier upgrade and i'm moving to the clean and paint stage! I was thinking about doing the carousel and now I am convinced.

Yes, the carousel really made it simple, and super easy to build. You can get that lazy Suzan bearing at any hardware store.

Your precision with the seat pan and frame mods are impressive. I'm surprised you don't have more views. I'm just getting started on my 79 CX engine clean/paint. This video was very helpful. Do you plan on upgrading the stator, rectifier, ignition etc?

Yes, I’ll be doing all the upgrades I can as I go. Thanks for the comments, they help the algorithm and maybe I’ll get more views.

Great video! When you paint a motor like that, what happens to the gaskets and bolts? I've never done it, but I'm afraid the paint will chip of of them and it will be tough to disassemble later if I need to.

I replace the gaskets if I remove the entire cover. But if I just paint the engine without removing the parts I just replace the hardware one bolt at a time and torque each one as it’s replaced.

How many cans of black did you use for your engine? Great video

I used 1 of the primer and one full can of paint, but I have several small parts left to paint so probably another can of black for sure.

The CX is a 1981
