From the first moment I heard the machine roar, I knew it was a two-stroke engine. Its sound is hoarse but as if it were something that arose from a metal wall that covers a deep well. I always liked two-stroke bikes, I had 2 that despite the small engine were very powerful, It is very good that they can still be used on public roads. The work done is formidable. Simple and subtle, yet powerful and elegant. In any project they will always be winning combinations.

Valeu Vitor, abraço e boa semana amigo.
@RACER_TV3 жыл бұрын

I am a, "two-strokeaholic!!" I grew up breathing pre-mix before 'YZs'. Had two R-5s, three RDs, and two 'RZs'!! The last of the past, an RZ-350 NC,(new Californian) we did everything to it. My mechanic's father, set times at Baylands Raceway on a Suzuki H-6 Hustler!! (secret porting!) But the man to beat was, Tommy Blackwell. Put a RD 400 engine in a YZ-465, "Desert Sled!!" Put another one, in a old "TZ-250!" chassis!! That sound of a two stroke twin, on the pipe, awesome!! Especially one ported, Lectron's, Bassini's ( Southern California made ) My RZ-350 bone stock, did s honest 115, made 40 HP. And only weighed 328;Lbs. Back then, only Eric Buell carried 'Dymags', got my full floating cast iron rotors from him too. Ah those were the days!! ✌️😎👍

Definitely one of my favorites in a long time. After college l moved to Atlanta, GA. After landing a job l decided to see if l could get a loan to buy a Yamaha RD 250 for daily transportation. Thankfully it was too soon for the banks to take a chance on a recent graduate. I ended up settling for a Bultaco Lobito and a 1962 Chevy Van to haul and store it in. What a tough little motorcycle that Bultaco was. We put each other through a fast learning process and survived each other.

I used to corner that bike until the footrest drew sparks on the tarmac, I have seen many wheelies, but I looked specifically for this driving style, and I couldn't find any movies. It means full throttle through the curves, only the centrifugal power holding that bike in line. It is the absolute limit you can drive that thing and a nightmare for the bigger bikes leaving them far behind on curvy streets. And yes I used not 9, but 99 lives. One step away from flying 🤩🤩😇

From Canada....built up 14 of the 1985to 1989 versions. Still have 2 ready to go. Bought an r3 just for comparison fun. 3 engines and all original parts packed away in my shop. Part of my life. Powerband for days with a y boot k n n and boysen dual stage reed cages. 2 times oversize seems to be the perfect 16:1 ratio. Damper and fork braces are recommended...😁😁😁 Wee Hoo!

Even the '81 rd350 had dual fronts. Ail\ oil forks pumped up a bit were pretty good for its day. Strong enough for multiple wheelie outings for sure. I would know. Spent half my youth wheellying these powerband funcycles!!!

You drove past me by Gunerius in Oslo. I was waiting on lights with my dad. Both on motorcycles.. And told him that was my dream bike... I was on a wrapped Honda Nsr125 and my dad was on a Duke390.

Other than the magneto being mislabelled as the clutch. Excellent video and build . Love it.

Yes, You are the secound person noticing it. Unfortunately, I didn't have any photo about the clutch. To be honest, that is just a visual detail that most people won't notice. Cheers.

I raced 2 strokes as a kid an I think thats what made me crazy... I stepped away from them, but recently in my 50s I've ended up with 2 stroke 100cc superlight, bucket racer.... If the front wheel isn't trying to come up the back wheel is trying to spin.. This bike is off the chart , .. In Australia I have friends that bring RDs in from America ,,there worth more than gold here

Never owned an rd bike, however I did own a banshee….to this day, those old two stroke twins up on the pipe are still one of my favorite sounds.

The way that engine hits the powerband...and starts howlin’ and growlin’... two-stroke symphony

That distinct aroma of 2 stroke smoke always reminds me of the 80's. When every other bike on the road in the UK, was a screaming Yam. RD 350 LC.
