it's rod actually. sister madeleine Became evil on her own. Nazrat (not the devil or baph) The primary Antagonist of the ice scream universe, actually had good intentions for rod & madeleine. you delve further into the lore of the games, You will find out that Madeleine was already involved in dark arts & magic before she met nazrat & asked him to make her pregnant with rod, the future ice scream maker & in that time, she already claimed many innocent lives & Created those chicken monsters. it was only after she broke the two rules, imposed by nazrat, I.e becoming a good mother & human being (Consequence: If this particular rule is broken, Madeleine will become ugly & Horrifiying which explains why she looks the way she does) & 2. Worshipping nazrat properly & Daily (Consequence: This rule was broken over a very normal & small misunderstanding, since nazrat's fiery Demonic looks, His fire elements, goat-like appearance resembles that of Baphomet, she mistook Baphomet for Nazrat & worshipped him instead) breaking the Second rule is when evil nun fully succumbed to her inner evil. rod was just a Pawn in this cosmic chase game, He was Borne by sister madeleine for her own selfish reasons, had to endure the consequences of her choices, Was bullied by everyone, lost everyone he loved & inadvertently turned into a monster

But this doesn't mean she should have resorted to dark arts or the devil itself. She should have just moved on & Leave those kids alone. while she loved her daughter, elisa, she inadvertently added further to her pain, By resurrecting her in rod. Rod was bullied & abused his whole life & elisa. who died in war, was forced to be stuck inside that monster for the rest of her second life also she got elisa back the moment rod was born & his sister's soul was transferred to him, her problem was already solved. But then she began those very same experiments, that she did on other children (You find that in a diary by evil nun in one of the games) on him, prompting the other nuns to give him away & then he was adopted by Joseph. if she stayed good & never broke those rules, she wouldn't have gone this path ever. She wasn't forced to become evil, She CHOSE to become evil.
