@@harlannguyen4048 It's from the perspective of Mineva Zabi and is about the hopes and dreams people had for the Universal Century and how they were let down to some extent. For us in the real world it reads as similar to our hopes and dreams for the 21st century. We hoped that after the violent 20th century that the 21st century would be one of progress and peace. New technologies like the internet and computers were supposed to improve the lives of everyone and bring us closer together. That has not happened and it feels like we're falling further away from that ideal every year. The point is though that despite the fact that things haven't turned out like we hoped that doesn't mean we should stop trying and both the Universal Century and our world aren't beyond saving. It is possible to make changes for the better in our systems and hopefully live up to those dreams we had. This is a general theme in Gundam but in Unicorn it's expressed very strongly. Unicorn especially has a theme of generational change and the large burden that the younger generation has to carry, Mineva Zabi being the heir to Zeon and Banagher being the pilot of the Unicorn. IRL the parallel would be fighting climate change, which Unicorn also explicitly references.

I wonder if at any point Unicorn was meant to be the absolute ending to the Universal Century story arcs. I like Gundam and it going on is cool, but Unicorn seems as though it would have been a fitting ending to everything Universal Century.

Unicorn and NT is the explanation of what happened to the mysterious Psyco Frame technology utilized in CCA. In a way it provides closure to Zeon being a major player in the Earth Sphere as well. However, we know Mars Zeon and ReZeon exist still so it has to leave an opening for that.

Unicorn is not an ending to anything as the Universal Century is quite long, if anything is a closure to UC it has to be Turn A Gundam which explained what happened to the world. Victory Gundam takes place in UC 153 and there is that Godawful CGI crap that takes place in UC 223 but it can hardly be claimed to be relevant to the UC story. Its important to note that Unicorn takes place in 0096 while Hathaway's Flash takes place in 0105 which is the next big Gundam project.

Ya know, it makes me wonder if they'll ever make a chapter for the UC that explains what happens to the Psychoframe technology between Unicorn/Narrative & F91. Did it all just disappear? If so then why? What could be so massive in scope that it would eradicate all trace and mention of Psychoframe by the time Seabook gets into the F91? And please don't tell me it's just gonna be something like "The ESFS swept it all under the rug", that's TOO simple honestly.

F91 was writtem a decade earlier. Whenever something is writtem between two works in the same timeline, it feels like the new work needs to bridge the two, but it really doesn't need to do that.

'swept under the rug' is indeed too simple yet it fits the puzzle for the timeline. The psychoframe technology displayed too much power and keeping it a secret, sealing the machine away and making the events a myth is the only way they can protect the current UC universe. Banager and mineva both know the world is not ready for that kind of power. Its actually nice how we can look forward to more UC events in the future to bridge the gap from the current ones

There are, however, fragments of the design from earlier works by AE engineers which survived the purge, thought those safeguarding it have resorted to burying it deep in an effort to avoid their capture and destruction, awaiting for a time when mankind would be more accepting of this gift of technology. Gundam NT explained that the 2 Unicorn units Unicorn and Banshee weren’t dismantled, they were sealed cause there’s still a crisis in the future that require all 3 Unicorn gundams to be united and to stop it. My Guess is if the creators of the UC timeline wanted to give the UC a reboot due to the Backlash of F91, Victory, Turn A and Recog G, then they would continue the Unicorn Trilogy after Hathaway’s Flash when Bahnager, Riddhe and Jona are adults, the crisis will occur and the 3 Unicorn gundams will need to sacrifice themselves in order to save the world. And yes I dislike Turn A, F91, Victory and ESPCIALLY mobile fighter G Gundam even tho it’s not in The timeline. sue me

Headcanon: Unicorn 0096 is a solid alternate UC timeline where the Unicorn series/RX-0 trio was built(unlike the main UC timeline where there seems to be no records of the RX-0 trio) and the Federation and Zeon/Axis(whatever it is) actually are now at peace and working with one another and fought side by side against the coming wars to happen (F91, Crossbone, Victory and so on) and either won or lost as a United force and the Unicorn is somehow destroyed in said wars. Then turn A happens and stuff.
