Just rehomed these egg laying hens who were on the way to the slaughterhouse after being stuck in a cage for their whole life. They can now live out the rest of their life in relative freedom and peace.

This cage is their night pen; they have a 6ft x 6ft pen during the day, as well as free ranging for a few hours a day in the garden.

This is their night pen, they have a larger daytime pen, and free range a few hours each day :)

how is being taken from a small cage and being placed in a small cage classed as free? that pen is far to small for that many hens!

I don’t get it who buys battery eggs anymore anyway there only 30 p cheaper than free range

Free Range are but two words .The actual source little better than the"huge industrial set up " Since when were chickens meant to be a massive industry with names to con the kind public .Until I find a small and do mean small place where it's more a cottage industry I never buy .Been years so far ....

@@olgap3765 worst year was 2018-2019. Been getting ill since 2012/2013. Slowly getting better, making some slow progress. All the best :)
