These horde videos really show why a rook and a pawn is not good compensation for 2 minor pieces, and a queen may not be for 3. Having fewer assets to trade can lead to some major disadvantages.

Weird that you would mention that on this video considering toward the end a single queen took on an army of 2 bishops and a dozen pawns and was a single pawn away from drawing 2:55 and it came down to a single pawn to give the win to black

I was recently watching Hikaru's stream and I noticed this when he was playing a blitz tournament game, he reached an end game where he or his opponent had a king and queen left and the other had a king, rook and a pawn and Hikaru stated that it was a draw and that's exactly how it ended. A queen sacrifice for a stalemate position.

Most (non ai) engines should be able to Deal With These scenarios With a few tweaks, even If less efficiently. Why is this comment section just full of rebukes that don't even work. The AIs played very well imo. "White should've just attacked the g file" They had to clear the backrank first, to gain access to the cage, but they had a shortage of queens. "He could have pushed pawns and queened earlier." no, black had to defend against white's constant threats of sacrificing and infiltrating the backrank. Only 2 queens wouldve be needed to mate right here.

I think it could have done better by restricting its attack to nothing but the diagonal starting from the space 3 spaces in front of the black king (one of which is the wall) and ending with the white square 7 in front of the white king (in its starting position). Just move diagonally into enemy territory from there, attacking that square, sending in one queen after the next, until black runs out of rooks and white squared bishops of which there are only 3. How many pieces in total are there to defend it? One pawn, 7 rooks and 3 bishops are all that could potentially defend that first square. That's a lot of queens to sacrifice but it looks like there are enough of them.
