And then, of course, there's the "half cage" where you advance down one of the wide zones so you only have to protect the inside of the field. Personally, I prefer that as it frees up players to run interference in other locations on the pitch. Be careful though, if the cage is breached you might find your ball carrier pushed over the sideline and beaten up by the crowd... :-( In general though, I'm not a huge fan of caging. Problem is, that's it's too easy to stop, simply by putting players one step away from the cage, reducing it to moving just one square per turn. Of course, it helps if the ball carriers is a thrower so you have the option of throwing the ball out of the cage, forcing your opponent to cover deep and wide to stop your receivers, thus weakening the defence around the cage.
