Cagiva Mito 125 engine rebuild

Yes, they are all the same, from 91 to 2012. the differeces are between some models regarding the gearbox ( 6 - 7 speed ). The cylinder head matches all of the modeles as also the crackshaft, clutch, bearings an all others.

Did you change the conrod main bearing? i would have spent the extra money to refurbish the crankshaft if i was doing total rebuild.

As regards to the 6/7 speed, the engine case left side is different in the 7 speed which will take a 6 speed bix but the 6 speed will not take the 7 speed box because the gear housing is longer inside on the 6 speed....so in practice you can fit a 6 speed box in to the seven speed case if you shim it or mill down the case of the 6 speed to take the seven speed ..other than that adventix is totally correct :)

I thought there are two types of cylinder heads for the mito? flat for the first model and domed for the second and third model?

hi love the work ya did on the mito engine i have one question does anybody know if the mito engine would go on a Aprilia RS without modifying the engine suports ok maybe one suport to modify cuz if its only one suport to modify no probs if i have to modify all the suports then no goo. ((: cheers

hi, is the mito engine and all they other 125 cagiva engines the same? i have a cagiva with craked engine case so im thinking seen as they are only 40 worldwide and iv looked everywhere for cases ile just have to use cagiva ones so. providing they are both 6 speed its just the head thats different???

Hi, well in the first year i used Agip SAE 20W50 (as the producer says) but then i used Motul 7100 10W40 (4 stroke oil) and didn't feel any major difference.

No, both evo and sp525 and have dome as standard.

hi, the RS engine won-t work on the cagiva frame, the main obstacle is that the RS has the sproket on the right side and the Mito on the left side, so you wont be able to make the transmision.

Hi budy! How much did you spend Doing the rebuild ? This year 2015 I jus spend Usa dllr $400 oil pump $170 regulator $500 new tires $100 piston ring $550 power valve control module $80 brake pads It's a great bike but fucking Spending like a millionaire !!

+lohengrin ballesteros Hi.. going back through memories i think i-ve spent a fortune on this bike, not only the engine rebuild but you must consider that at a point i had 3 identhical Mito's, 1 running 2 broken for parts so i cannot exacly tell you how much the engine rebuild costs. Anyway, not as much as you. Good luck!
