Hi Raunak, some authors treat cheque in hand as cash but you don't have to follow that. As per your curriculum, it has to be treated as cheque in hand only 👍🏻

You have to do two column cash book only so all the answers are as per two column cash book .

Discount allowed means cash rebate given while receiving the cash and in cash book only the cash received and cash paid is recorded so that's why cash discount is not recorded in double column cash book, it is recorded in journal proper.

sir Qno.9 interest charged by bank credit bank a/c but in bank reconcilation statement wahan pa debit hota sir i have a confusion cashbook mai aur bank recencilation statement mai

Cash book is prepared from business point of view but bank statement is prepared by the banks, this is the main difference. There is a video of BRS concepts in the playlist, please check.

Q no. 6 Discount allowed will be recorded on reciept side/debit side (discount allowed being expense) of cash book in case of triple column cash book...but u said not recorded in cashbook So does it mean we consider cash book as single column when simply word CASH BOOK is mentioned...?? The concept of three column cash book is not included in Class 11 so thats why i said not considered in cash book but if you are making three column then yes discount allowed will be written on the debit side.

Hi Kifayat, discount is recorded when it is 3 column cash book but we are preparing 2 column so discount is not recorded in 2 column cash book.
