If that was all there was to the story, then of course your statement would totally make sense. However, the bad, impulsive decision was to recklessly shoot into an occupied vehicle and even hit an innocent guy that's not even connected to the crime at all. If Cain would have just beat the dude up or something, perhaps he probably wouldn't even be in trouble (or not to a high degree) considering the circumstances. Cain seems like a good dude that just made an irrational, emotion-fueled decision but let's be real that wasn't the wisest decision at all. At least the guy that was shot didn't have life-threatening injuries or wasn't killed because then Cain wouldn't have a prayer in the court system period.
