Hi I live in a studio apartment too and I have a little Maltese dog. I live in an apartment block so when my little Millie wants to go out to the toilet I have to put her on a lead and take around the back where we have a grassed area for her go which is fine because I love her so much. We go on walks every day and yes she does sleep on my bed As I live on my own But I have a blanket on it at the end of the bed where she sleeps so my bed does not get dirty. She also has a little bed by the window where she will also sleep if she wants to and she does like coming up onto the couch. All the things I need for her under the kitchen sink but I do keep her laid on the back of the door and her jar of treats on the kitchen worktop. She has two cheap bowls and a mat which stops the floor from getting dirty when she eats. So love your channel and your cute little dog.❤️❤️❤️

Wow. This is crazy. I live in Chicago, and I'm currently looking for dog friendly studio apartments in the north side! So that I'll be ready when I get a small dog!

We need to pass a law in which it's illegal to have a dog if you don't have a yard. It's like keeping them locked up in a prison all day. It's not natural for them to stay cooped up. They should have access to the outside whenever they would like it via a doggy door to the backyard. Please no dogs in apartments.

I live in a one-bedroom apartment and I didn't realize we would be walking so much. I imagined we would stand in a spot until he did his business and go back in. Taking one long walk a day sounds much nicer than taking six or more potty breaks, so we are going to move into a small house with a fenced in backyard. It would be nice to shower and get dressed before going outside. We live and learn...

I definitely understand that. It’s a pain, but the things we do for our pets!

In about 4 years I will be moving out of my parents house and in a few years i will inherit a 120-pound rottweiler. He is a big boy and full of energy and my mom does not want him so he will have to come with me when I move out. He is a good boy and I will have to make it work

Just make sure to dedicate him the time he needs for exercise and you’ll be fine! How exciting!!

I just found your channel searching for Chicago apartment tours (like twenty minutes ago) but this video is perfect! I'd love a dog but I also live in a studio. I was wondering, how did you deal with toilet training him in a studio, without having quick backyard access all the time?
@CairaButton5 жыл бұрын
Caitlin Thorn so when I got him he was already potty trained, but it is still super important to stick to a schedule so they don’t have accidents. If you can stick to a routine you should be good to go. But I do dog sit a puppy, and she is pad trained. That’s not my favorite meathod because I think it’s really hard to get them off the pads and go outside without them thinking they can pee on a carpet.

Amazing video and tips. I am going to get a 8 week old baby pug tomorrow for my studio. Its really hot high 90s in Los Angeles so I was wondering what you recommend in terms of potty training and also should I get a kennel or cage? Thank you!
@CairaButton4 жыл бұрын
Awwww so cute!!!! I started off crate training because I think it really helps them feel like they have a safe space and helps with potty training.

Caira Button thank you so much for replying. I have seen a good amount of your videos and have ideas for my next apartment coming up next month. Your tip on the kitchen island helped me narrow out few locations. One last question, do you know the mode number or name of that sofa? I need that in my life haha. Thank you and have a great day!

Do the rest of the tenants a favor if you live in an apartment and walk your dogs. Dealing with this with an upstairs neighbor and his big sized dog who he doesn't walk, and you can hear the dog running around the hardwood floor freaking out. It's annoying.
