Steph Curry bulked up big-time as his career went along, to a significant degree because teams took on a strategy of being very physical with him to wear him out and slow him down. He continued to evolve his game and perfect his skills while adding size and muscle. CC seems to be very much on the same path.

More upper body strength without sacrificing that smooth as butter shot will be amazing. Totally onboard with her doing it over a couple of seasons so her shot can adjust with her change in strength.

If you continue to practice your shooting at high volume at the same time you are adding muscle, I think you can do so without much, if any, loss of accuracy. The extra strength should also help with long-range accuracy late in games, when fatigue is starting to have an effect.

remember, a lot of the size thing has to do with body maturity and college takes a lot of your time. Classes and team meeting takes up most of your days. People dont know that teams are only allowed x amount of time of actual practice on the court. But teams spend hours a day in meetings and film time. Classes and meetings literally barely give players time for homework. She needed this off time to concentrate on basketball

I agree on the importance of slowly building muscle while concurrently playing basketball. I have to believe CC's workouts are being structured to not to interfere with her flexibility, speed and touch. As a pickup basketball player, I lost my touch after spending a winter working out. The following spring I was bouncing the ball against the backboard.

Angel Reese was a star for the younger generation during the year she won her Championship ring. Angel had over 1 million fans on all her social media platforms before that championship game. Caitlin Clark was a virtual unknown until she embarrassed South Carolina guard (Raven Johnson) in the Final Four when she waved Raven off and refused to guard her during a 3-point shot. Caitlin was on all the ESPN Sport Center highlights that whole weekend. The next week Angel Reese got Caitlin Clark back during the Championship game for embarrassing Raven by pointing at her ring finger, after LSU won the Championship game against Iowa. That also made all the Sports Center highlights and is the time that Caitlin became famous across America.

She was 157 coming into the NCAA senior year. She entered the WNBA at like a 152 mark. Probably ended going back to 157 around the end part of the season. I figure that she's aiming for a 163 to 165 mark. Most of the players at the SG/ SF position are around the 170 to 180 anyway. So, she'd need to get that weight to match up with the Laney's, the Carrington's, the McBrides, and so on. Most of the PFs in the league are 175 and above. Some of the SFs are actually 180 mark. There are a few SGs that are around the 180 mark. So, I do think that her reaching those higher marks will help her improve dealing with these players that she was often matched up with. I think she can easily guard Rhyne Howard or Gray from ATL though. She's basically the same height and weight if she gets around the 165 mark. Sabrina's going to definitely struggle against her next year if Clark meets 165 mark--given that Sabrina's not going to have any advantages against Caitlin at all.

Clark was already the best player. As good as A'ja is at scoring and defending, her MVP 2024 is based on - at best - delusion. First of all, Clark's point generation was much, much better, and that is primary. As high as Clark's scoring was, she could have scored significantly more personal points, if that had been her focus. But her focus was winning with her team. Her addition to the team strength is tremendous and unprecedented in WNBA's history. A'ja, by contrast, doesn't really add that much to the team's strength. Sometimes maybe not at all. For those not understanding what I'm getting at, let me phrase it like this: The strength of a team with Clark is greater than the sum of Clark's and the team's strength. The strength of a team with A'ja is less than the sum of A'ja and the team. Bulking up is dangerous, particularly for a young athlete, because muscles grow way faster than tendons and ligaments. Together with muscle memory being unused to deal with the greater strength and weight, the risk of injuries will be considerably greater. And the injuries will be worse. Clark's lighter weight has been a blessing for her in the last season, when it comes to avoiding injuries.

No, if your team is that far ahead you should be playing your bench not stacking stats. Those that hold that type record should have just taken a seat in the first place. Too many factors involved in getting your points that high up in a game. Not a stat that impresses me. Kinda like the mebounds recently.

She already had good strength and speed....... getting stronger should be scary for the league like it was after MJ's first couple years. Combine that with the green light to run and a new coach and hopefully some fair officiating... look out. I called it last year before the season... that she would tear up the WNBA. Didn't know she would have to battle her own team and the league itself.. and that from game one she would have every team sell out 100% to shut her down like it was a personal grudge match... but in the end she killdit anyway. Will be hard to do much better, but CC is just different... she is that Kobe/MJ type cat
