My dude I enjoyed watching your vids but I'm over the WNBA... again. I used to follow Houston Comets until they fell through. When CC got straight up tackled by her defender I think in the 4th and no foul was called, that was the last straw for me. No one is saying the game can't be physical. But call the fouls. Instead they let play go on. These Refs are the worst Refs in the history of Professional Sports. WNBA Player's Association has failed to protect CC. She's a player and part of the Union, too. WNBA Front Office has repeatedly failed to exercise any kind of discipline publicly. This league is not worth watching. I am not trying to watch CC just get hammered with no calls or ejections. WNBA has failed to protect the product. The eye poke should have been a flagrant but no call. Play went on. No fine, no suspension. No Accountability. Alyssa Thomas, Chicago Sky, Seattle Storm. So many games they could have put an end to it. I'm done.

i can't help but think conspiracy theories like it's some weird sorority hazing ritual to allow the older players to beat up on the younger ones and not call fouls. But to me, it was clearly biased officiating and consistently bad reffing against Indiana. you should not have to challenge who the foul was on two games in a row. you should not have to challenge fouls to get them bumped up to flagrant. you should not have to challenge getting stepped on and knocked down while shooting a 3. the rule is you have to give the shooter a safe landing. in the final game, there were two fouls against caitlin, not called, that the announcer said were clearly fouls and the announcers typically try to refrain from calling out the refs mistakes. they purposely don't show replays of calls or non calls on tv to cover up the poor officiating. fire them all. a quick google search indicates that the wnba refs can make more than the average salary for a wnba player. wtf.

At the end of the day, no way was the Fever going to play a Game 3. Pretty much all the Fever fouls were touch fouls or no fouls. The Fever specifically CC was mugged and could not get a foul. Would not get a foul when she got undercut on a 3. We all say these referees are terrible which is true. But these referees have and agenda.

Fever could have definitely won this game. But a huge issue for Fever is the complete lack of quality bench players. The other successful teams in wnba have good bench players that can come in and play well for good stretches of time. CC and Mitchell were both very tired in that 4th qtr and they got no breaks, Wheeler came in for Hull a bit. Bonner was very tired but she got to go to the bench a couple times and then she comes back in and makes a huge shot at end of game. Sun got 18 pts from their bench and Fever got 6.

To be honest, CC and company have given me the best entertainment in 2024. I'm a big, big Fever fan. Thanks to Caitlin among others I know Boston, Mitchell, Hull, and Smith. I'm sorry they lost this game but I'm overjoyed for what they have done for me and surely many others over the season. I couldn't be prouder. I too watched the WNBA for the first time, and I’m an old hat. I’ve been watching NBA since the Bird/Magic years. One thing that surprised me with the WNBA is that the players play dirty (at least against the Fevers). NBA players are angels in comparison. The WNBA referees are worse than amateurs. I tried watching a couple of non-Fever games, and I got bored. WNBA is not enjoyable. Only when Fever plays is the game worth watching. (And all the jealousies and immaturity flying around, that’s another story).

The NBA players are angels? Why do you think Steph wears a mouthguard and Kareem wore goggles? Kareem's lines in "Airport" were funny because they were true. NBA contact is just harder to see because the players take up so much space and are so quick and so strong -- it's like watching NFL line play under the basket. Play by the Europeans in the Olympics, both genders, was even more physical than NBA or WNBA. CC is into it as much as anyone. Did you see her eye gouge against Carrington that dug her contact out of her eye? Her hockey-style body checks against Reese after Reese beat her to rebounds? Her forearm shiver to Chennedy Carter's face the play before Carter knocked her down? And almost every still of CC driving shows her pushing off hard. None of it is called. It's all part of basketball, like it or not, and CC is part of it. The better you are the more the refs let you get away with. CC is great, and wonderful to watch, but she's a grown-up ball player and plays like one. The main difference between her and others is that most of them come from the playground "no blood, no foul" tradition, where refusal to show pain is the rule, but Iowa coach Bluder taught her girls to yip and whine and do exaggerated flops to try to work the refs. In the Big Ten everyone laughs and calls it the 'Iowa School of Drama."

Caitlin should have had the ball. She had at least 1 defender on her at all times so i don't know why she wasn't running the plays amd creating opening for everyone else. To be fair the Sun defense was great. The fever defense sucked... They stood 3 feet away looking to defend the layup and the Sun decided they'd just sit at the perimeter and shoot 3's. How on earth can you defend a 3 when you're 3 feet away? Well that's it for me. I'm done watching WNBA but I'll keep watching your videos if you decide to put any up.

Sun actually shot poorly from 3 as well (26.3% compared with 26.7% for Fever,) and were doing even worse until late in the 4th when they got three critical 3's when it counted. Sun reacted by pushing into the paint more, and turned down a lot of 3 shots for a lot of the game.

I suspect this was on Sides. Mitchell shot 33% from three, well below her season average of 41%, but Clark shot 25% and Hull 20%, so Sides may have been going with a green light for the least cold of her shooters. Clark did very well from farther inside, but Fever has lived and died by the 3-pointer this season. Rebounding by Boston and Fagbenle kept them in the game. 13 offensive boards is a lot of second chances, and Fever got 43 rebounds to 29 for Sun. Started a lot of breaks.

New WNBA fan only because of CC. Just like you I never thought about watching prior to CC because I thought the game was boring. As a previous NBA season ticket holder I have also started to get bored with NBA games. Thank goodness Caitlin Clark brought life back to basketball and I found myself loving not just her but many of her teammates and also liking some other teams players too. I flew from Portland to Phoenix to watch their first game beating an over 500 team and also flew back for the All Star game. Fever almost won tonight and I was crushed as you were but they brought me and many others so much joy this year. It’s amazing to watch greatness and an exciting player who understands that people paying hard earned money not only want to watch a winning team but also want excitement and entertainment. And I also want to thank you for all your podcasts. I’ve enjoyed listening to you and watching you with all your constructive criticism and excellent coaching advice. Looking forward to next year! 😊

Sides took the ball out of CC's hands part of the second quarter and a lot of the second half. That is how Sides thinks she can control CC's turnovers. You had Erica Wheeler, Kelsey Mitchell, Temi Fagbenle and Lexi Hull throwing difficult passes they are not capable of throwing. Whereas they are pretty simple for CC. Their new point guards just threw the ball away. Not to mention the 4 layups Boston missed in the first quarter with very little defense on her. Mitchell, Wheeler and Hull had problems making easy 2 footers.

I saw last nights game played before. In the 2023 National Championship Game, Iowa played LSU. ESPN was bragging how this was the first ever DEI all-referee persons of color in the Final. I believe these were WNBA officials also. I was a fan of Iowa and CC. Had no connection to the Midwest. This was by far the most lopsided officiated game I have ever witness in 50 years of watching basketball. You can catch it on YT still. Caitlin and Monica Czinano was in foul trouble early and eventually fouled out. A bench player who was not a great 3 point shooter for LSU blew the game open in the second quarter when she went full Arike. Hit 8 I believe. Iowa got the game down to 8 in the second half and the shenanigans started happening aging. CC got a tech for dropping ball and it roll out of bounds dead ball. Her and Czinano fouled out. Before the 2023-4 season started, the NCAA came out with a statement. They said the Championship Game was well below par officiating. They said 93% was acceptable grade. That game was below 83%. Did not give the number. Plus late CC technical was not a technical and would not be going forward. Kin Mulkey spent half the game on the court on her knees at times constantly talking to refs. Lisa Bluder tried to ask a question and she got a Tech. At the press conference Bluder said the refs would not talked to her. CC did not win a Championship but this one was not fair.

I love the ball movement in the end of the 4th quarter with Temi and AB. I wish it existed throughout more of the game. Definitely agree Clark is a spark this game was wild and chippy and I loved that Clark didn't backdown. Temi shot that shot because she had PTSD from the play before when she was left on an island lol The crazy part is if the Fever's D was middle of the pack it would be enough but they are sadly bottom of the barrel Loved your content this season and glad you took a positive note on the accomplishments of the team like I did with my recap. I prefer an Allisha Gray or an Ariel Powers type of player doing backcourt with Caitlin rather than having a Kelsey Mitchell... Kelsey tends to do a lot of bad reads on the court and wrong decision... she just improved this season because she played with Caitlin. Allisha Gray or Ariel Powers type can definitely improve MORE playing with Caitlin.

First I’m not a Fever fan or a subscriber but check in every so often. That being said, why would you pass on the NCAAW? It’s not just Paige. Not by a long shot. Next years draft class is top to bottom, better than this years. A team can pick up a quality guard midway through the 2nd round. Paige, Juju, Kiki, Morrow, Miles and Citron, Fudd. My favorite guard, Georgia Amoore. There is Raven and Pao Pao and Maddie Westbeld and many others. The rosters in the W are going to change. The season starts in Paris. I believe there is going to be a matchup of Hidalgo against Juju. That’s box office. The S.C championship game had 24 million peak views. Far more than the W and Clark. That’s a lot of potential subscribers. Just keep it about college though and have the whole the Fever should draft in the break between March madness and the draft. It would be a nice segue. If Paige and Juju meet in the championship game there’s a possibility of breaking the all time mark for championships with viewers: 35 million. Bird vs Magic in 1979. Just saying.

Not all are eligible for 2025 WNBA draft. Paige will be eligible and so will Georgia. But Juju will not. She will not be eligible until 2027.

Just watched Chicks Dig Scars video and two things are clear, the referees, unbelievably bad (maybe not unbelievably considering what we have seen this year), and the discrepancy in FT's awarded: 23 to 9 in favor of the Sun!!! Clark gets knocked to the ground twice while shooting, by Mabrey and Bonner, referees right there: No fouls called?! Mitchell has a foul called on her when not involved - Same as Boston in the previous game?! - has to be challenged. Both times refs change call and award fouls against other Fever players? Is this allowed? This league needs a clearout, starting at the top!

I won't watch the WNBA until Clark plays again next season. And hopefully the Fever will have an upgraded roster and a new head coach next season too.

Enjoyed the season Thanks Carter. You are fantastic. This was a full game of Sides Ball. CC was running every chance she got, Sides puts in Wheeler. Wheeler turned the game into a slow down disaster. Fever players looked to out to Wheeler over CC. That was either Sides telling them to do it or the players were tired from running. CC kept demanding a pass from out of bounds to her but they just passed it to Wheeler. Wheeler would not even look at CC, nor would she pass it to her. Every time in the second half a team called timeout, CC got no touches when play resumed. Thank Goodness this was Sides last game.

We’ve got an exiting new pg who was 3rd in scoring last year at Villanova, Hannah Stuelke as well, Taylor McCabe who shoots 46% from three and an amazing freshman class, particularly center Ava Heiden. Should be exciting & I think they’ll be better than people are predicting.
