I am at a loss of words. This is so crazy what is going on with Caitlin Clark. Thank you for mentioning that she has had no time off since last August and that the Fever's schedule has been obscene. It is almost like there is some kind of conspiracy to make sure Caitlin Clark fails.

They talk down to men - men are 99% of the audience for the WNBA. Women don’t support it at all. I am a man I had the league pass last year - no other player or rookie ever got it from an entire league even their teammates like this. Especially when she isn’t talking herself up. It’s jealousy. No one tears down women like other women. These women could take the increased attention and showcase their game - they are showcasing their jealousy instead.

You mean the MEN that got the same memo instructing them to spin the same false narrative. Have you seen one interview where any one or several players being asked very directly are they jealous of Caitlin because she's White? The best to ever play in the WNBA? Are they targeting her? The answer would be emphatically NO to all three questions. However, real fans of the " sport of basketball" knows that it's not the case. The media and stans should be careful with the word magic though!

Please, WNBA "veterans". Don't insult everyone with the nonsense that "rookies have to expect treatment like Carter's mugging of Clark." Rookies should not "have" to expect being mistreated just to provide an excuse for veteran players to vent their anger over being ignored, unappreciated and underpaid in prior years. And when veteran players offer this juvenile and insulting explanation, it goes nowhere with the fans who are thinking "Don't go pissing on my back and try telling me its raining."

Indiana needs to bring on the biggest baddest player they can find to act as an enforcer to protect their player. Their coach needs to speak to the other players on their team to protect their teammate. The WNBA better decide what they want new viewers to think, because you only get one first impression and speak to their refs. If I was Clark I would call Steph Curry and ask him how he dealt with cheap shots, the best answer is get up with a laugh and drain a 3.

Personally having coached several different sports because of my daughters, driving a school bus of players and cheerleader at high school. Girls tend to bully others secretly, boys not as much, their is a select group that motivates the principals behind it. The owner of these teams need to act on your own behalf of the business side. A few bad apple can make the whole barrel make cheap Viniger and make sure you have the rules and the referee's that have a clear understanding what to look for. There thousands college referee's that con do a better job at several games I have watched.

@BrianKiddDevDesign 6 ай бұрын
@@StopNGorilla Check out what Jaeson and Jackie Maravich think of Caitlin Clark. They give her pretty high praise. Just Google it. Also, like Caitlin, The Pistol was a polarizing player. For the Pistol, it was partially due to his very lucrative rookie-year contract, the largest of ANY NBA player up until that season, and also, the Pistol's unorthodox/unconventional "showtime" style of play, which also resulted in oodles of turnovers in his rookie year. Unfortunately, individual player TOs were not tracked by the NBA back then, but the anecdotal/heuristic evidence leads most fans to believe this about Pete's turnovers in his rookie season. And of course, the Pistol also shot bombs, despite the three-point line not being implemented until his last NBA season. There are other comparisons I could make, of course, but the bottom line is she was given the nickname "Ponytail Pete" in college for a reason. I do agree that she has a lot to prove until she can be mentioned in the same conversation as The Pistol. However, I still see some glaring parallels between the two.

The league should not have to protect anybody. If the referees would just read the basketball rulebook and call the plays accordingly everybody would be safe. An example of those 3 referees should be made by being removed from the league. Even in the NFL that would’ve been a 15 yard clipping penalty. Even Angel Reese would’ve got a clothesline penalty on CC in the NFL. Send all the WNBA refs back to the NFL and get some new ones before people start getting injured.

Dads and moms, of all ethnicities around the world, can encourage their daughters to watch a great female basketball phenom who looks and behaves like someone that these parents want their daughters to grow up to be like (not be like Mike). Michael Jordan said it best, "Republicans wear sneakers, too." Apply that same concept to Caitlin Clark and you get, "Conservatives and traditional family dads and moms have daughters who like basketball, too". In comes Caitlin Clark. I CAN'T MAKE IT ANY SIMPLER THAN THAT!!!

The WNBA continues to shoot it's self in the foot. For 30 years they have yet to turn a profit. The WNBA has turned a "blind eye" to the amount and brutality of the fouls. When Angle was clotheslined and slammed to the floor. that should have been a t2, ejection with possible fine and suspension. Same with Clark. If either foul happened in the NBA, swift action would be taken, ejection only the first part. The reason they turn a blind eye is they think that's the reason fans come to the game, to see them get beat up. How has that been working for you the last 30 years? II also am getting tired of hearing about "all those that came before". If they were so good and so wonderful, why were they subsidized for the 30 years. Why didn't they have shoe deals, why were they riding busses? Because the base of the game was flawed. Fans want to see solid basketball with fouls given to players that don't respect the game or other players. When the golden goose starts laying eggs don't see how fast you can break them. The goose will stop. For parents of little kids, who do you want merchandise from Clark or Carter?

Where are Diana Taurasi, Aja Wilson, Breana Stuart in all these because their comments prior to the start of the season did not understand their standing as role models with comments that are somewhat demeaning to Caitlin that has the effect of what's happening now to Caitlin. As role models and leaders of the WNBA, they should have already condemned Carter's action. Where are you???????? DT, AW, BS you are the only ones that can stop all these. All she wants is play ball.

Ms Carter why don't you check your basketball stats (points, rebound, assist, blocks, steals, fouls, turnovers and minutes played, the type of defense you received from your opponents) when you were a rookie, check the viewership you brought to the wnba when you were a rookie. How much revenue did you generate from the games you played as a rookie? How many of your jerseys were sold out as a rookie? Search deep in your soul only then you will get an answer. You are on one end of the spectrum of everything including professionalism and good sportsmanship, whilst CC is on the other end. Go figure which end. Now tell me what did CC bring to the game and the WNBA table.

Hardaway is sounding very soft right about now. I not advocating what Carter did to Clark. But come on, let's play on from here. Things are going to get better for her. It's her rite of passage into the league. Ok😂

Dtmchemistry- why should they defend her? CC didn’t defend them, especially Aliyah Boston, who was called so many racist names by these new fans, even was sent death threats, CC not one time said this needs to stop and is unacceptable, so why should they defend her? CC obviously don’t have their back

dmchemistry- well you should do a little research before making such comments..Boston was called the N-word several times, was compared to a monkey, was sent death threats, ALL because she dropped a couple CC passes and missed a layup….so where was/is CC to defend Boston, she hasn’t spoken up against it yet, why? Either she condones it or she just don’t want to lose her fanbase, either way it’s wrong and I don’t blame any black teammate of hers for not proper until she shows that she will protect them

The WNBA has a horrendous schedule for Indiana Fever 11 games out of 20 days. Other teams had only 6 games. What???? To be honest...nobody has moved the needle ever. All these 12 players in the USA Olympic team hasn't done it either. They said the best in the world. Too many excuses. You must treat the up and coming stars to elevate not decelerate them. Juju Watkins had so much respect for Caitlin Clark that she didn't want to go criticize her. She will be better than Caitlin. I guarantee that. She has a better offensive arsenal just like Kobe Bryant. Yes she's black,but I noticed her talent not her race. I can't wait for her to be in the draft.

She has broken records….the forth fastest rookie to reach 150pts, 50+ assists and 50+ rebounds joining Sabrina…every game that she plays either at home or away has been sell out and has been rating gold with over 2 million viewership at the highest making it so when they do renew their media deal next year they can easily get a better deal and make it possible to increase their salaries, make it possible for more teammates, increase the cap, better facilities, etc. she is on the worst team in the league but is still managing to average 20pts a game 5-6 assists, 5-6 rebounds and 2-3 steels and blocks. Once her teammates get chemistry and even better pieces around them they can easily become one of the top teams but they are still learning each other. They have only 9 practices before they started the season which is basically a game every other day with travel being every other day…4 games a week with there being one back to back…leaving no days off, no time for rest and recovery…a coach that is basically using their games as practice and a time to use to still figure out who is playing what position and who is even starting…they have changed lineups non stop alone with positions that there has been no chance to gel as a team…once everything settles and the chemistry is built they will be fine. It’s only her first season. No player comes into their first season and ends up balling out going on to win a championship especially the top pick because everyone knows they go to the worst team on the league. Especially for CC. Her team has the top 1 pick two years in a row, the #2 pick the year before that and in 2018, then the #6 and #7 picks in between those and they have also picked up a #4 pick. Plus every single one of their players with the exception of Wheeler and Kelsey are rookies basically having only played in the league for 1-3 years, so even they are still getting used to the WNBA themselves and it’s physicality and the demands on them. What they do truly need though is a better coach because the coach they have now doesn’t have the mentality of a winning coach but one that plays favorites and doesn’t foster building up her players…she doesn’t know how to build a team, come up with plays or even how to teach them plays…how is she then supposed to help coach them on the basics and get them to win a championship let alone a game. The only time they have won games is when the team themselves have took it upon themselves and did it on their own going against what she told them to do, especially CC. Just like this last game for some reason she is stuck on playing Wheeler and turning CC into a SG when Wheeler hasn’t been able to produce for the team been has been costly instead with not being able to score, turnovers and no defense. Every time she gets out in over CC the score ends up down by double digits but being that she is getting paid $400,000 and has the closest relationship with Sides because she was her assistant coach when they were in LA she has stuck to keeping her in this role and playing her as the PG. Same goes for CC and trying to get her to be a SG and turning her into the traditional basketball player like a Vanderbilt on the Liberty team, talking that she needs to stop going for the 3 pt shot and shot the long 2s instead. Everyone knows that basketball has a rhythm to it and especially for PG; they control the game and when they don’t have the ball in their hands it takes them out of their element and rhythm of the game making it so that they are not comfortable or able to fully get into the game. Yet when CC is the PG and controlling the game whether she is making her shot or not with her passing ability she is able to get the team going with pick and roll to make sure that the basketball is getting in the basket. Which is why she has such a high number of assists for a rookie. What I don’t understand is they even said one of the reasons why they drafted CC was because of her passing ability and yet they keep not utilizing it and trying to make her into a totally different player but always on the games like with the Aces and Liberty…it’s like the coach is intentionally throwing the games. Wanting to make sure they don’t win so they can get the #1 pick again next year so they can get Paige…granted it would help them because they desperately need another player that can shot the 3 and defend but what they need more right now is a larger body in the post to help out Boston…someone that can push back against these larger more aggressive post players. They should trade Wheeler & Kelsey for that player and then add Celeste to the lineup and they would be doing better but I don’t think the coach wants them winning all the much this year yet.
