The NBA grew because they didnt focus on just Larry bird or magic Johnson they focused on both. When you have the most talented pool of women " ESPN words not mine" collectively to get drafted and put all your attention to one player its not going to have the same affect. Caitlin will be great but the wnba grew by 23% last year and had its largest attendance average since 2018. They need to put people in the audience for games when Caitlin is not in town. Chicago had over 1.3 million views for streams and it was on a woman's phone not a wnba streaming service and they weren't playing Caitlin either. They dropped the ball on that . Cameron brink and angel Reese along with Aja Wilson can draw if you focus on them also. Larry bird said the nba made a mistake when they tried the great white hope route and not focus on all the talent he had and competed against and he afraid that they're going to do the same with clark and ignore others if shes not playing against them.

Now that Reese counterpart is down, she should get Big Minutes, and she could definitely win Rookie of the year along with several others. So it's not just Clark. A huge amount of shots Clarks is taking and she has just gotten into the League. Personally, I always say FEED the hottest Shooter of a given night. If that's Clark, so be it. But just don't Hog the Ball regardless of how your shooting is. TEAMS win championships. Like I stated several times, the WNBA can't base it's future on Fair Weather Fans.
