I get what Caitlin means about liking names but not liking them for your own kid. I know when I was younger I made this enormous list for future baby names but the older I get and when I look back at said list, I think I just wrote down every name I ever liked. I feel like my kid's name would have to sound good with the last name as well because it's sad to force someone to live their whole life with a last name and first name combo that's strange

I feel like names like 'Ocean', 'River', 'Isla' are almost more 'common' than some names you've heard a lot. It's unlikely a lot of the names you've heard of that are popular now are not going to be popular in your child's generation, whereas 'Ocean' and 'River' (maybe more River) are going to go up in popularity. Isla is also extremely popular right now. Summer and Autumn were already a little bit more popular 10 years ago so you'd probably hear those less. Also I like the name Francesca but it doesn't go super well with Oakley. The best name on your list IMO is Willow, it makes a cute sibset. I also just picture a daughter looking like both of you being called Willow. I really think your instincts were right with Willow because it goes sooo much better than the other names and when you actually sound it out it makes a pretty sound, whereas 'Ocean' without context for the meaning doesn't sound as nice to me. Or ignore me, I'm just a random stranger on the internet :'D

If your actual name is Ally (which sounds similar to Ellie), it’s unique but it’s spelt differently. I like it. Anyway, whatever name they pick, I’m sure it’ll suit their wee girl in the end. My 14 month old daughter is called Willow 🥰 And I named My 2 month old son Oakley 🥹 I never heard the name Oakley before until you both choose it for your son! I was then obsessed with the name 😍 Congratulations on having a Baby Girl! Truly blessed to have 1 of each I know I am.. I also find it easier because I was so worried about how I would cope with my duaghter no long being the only child.. she rather than looking at it as ‘he’s the new baby and my first baby has to grow up’ it was more My daughter will always be my princess and my Son will be my Prince.. 💕💙 Also no offence taken that you don’t like my name! If you want an uncommon name, you should google the top names in your region. I know so many parents who named their kid a name that they thought was unique, only to find that the kid was one of three with the same name at school. Keep in mind that the most popular names now are not the names that were most popular when we were growing up, so it's a good idea to look at current trends.
