Here’s a theory which I really liked: the love triangle is between Jisung, 7dream (the candle), and Mark. Mark had to leave the group but maknae Jisung didn’t want to let him and their memories go. Makes sense when you remember that ‘Candle Light’ was their last song together before Marks graduation

Yeah, there are a lot of theories about the storyline. But in my opinion, the love triangle involves a third person obviously. It's someone that Jisung loves and gifted the scented candle. But she/he sent it to Mark, which came back to Jisung again. That's why he looked sad and asked mark about who gave it to him. And also in the ending minutes of chapter 3, the taste of pain, he was referring to the pain of betrayal by his loved one , the same person whom he gifted the scented candle.

Oh my god. You are absolutely correct about people going crazy hearing just a minute and thirty second of each song. Literally when Dive Into You teaser came out, I was OBSESSED. It sounded so good, it was right up my musical preference. That part with Jaemin and Renjun in one frame?!?! Oh boy. And the vibe was exquisite!!! And then they drop RAINBOW?!?!?! They all sounded and looked amazing, especially my boy RENJUN??? That ending shot??? In slow mo?!?! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. I was DOUBLY OBSESSED. Then Diggity came out and I was murdereddd!!! Hot Sauce promotions were definitely my favorite era as a dreamzen!!! Absolutely unforgettable. I want to go back and feel those same emotions!!!

Dive Into You and Diggity also have dance practices and live stages that are sooooo great. I love how Dream was promoting with 2 songs for each album in these eras. They got to show so many sides of themselves. (And the Behind the Scenes for the filming of these tracks videos are also super fun to watch, as always)

Fun fact: Diggity was supposed to be the promotional single when they were leading with Hot Sauce (thus, the presence of actual choreography), but the Korean general public (and the international community, lol) LOVED Dive Into You so much that THAT became the promotional single during that era. Diggity was then pushed back as the promotional single for Hello Future, and you can find stages of both b-sides when they were promoting them on music shows! (Highly recommend the Diggity stage for... scientific reasons... and Dive Into You as a cute palate cleanser afterward, HAHA)

I think you need to see the whole NCTmentary series to understand their dream concept/theories..trust me everything is connected and still will be connected in their future releases..ive seen them and still dont get it lol but at least you'll get a general idea of whats going on Like for example, it was a theory they are all trapped continuously living in a dream loops with glitches (like nobody remembers the coffee jeno made before, renjun broke a cup instead of a plate, the candle was actually given by jisung to mark but he didnt remember), but the only one who knows theyre living in it was jisung bc he's the only one who remembers whats going on and someone says he's the only one who looks into the cameras bc he knows someone is watching them (dudes from dream lab like johnny etc)

Explanation time (as i understand it): jisung likes someone and gave them the candle; that person likes mark and gave the candle to him. But mark doesn't like them, so he carelessly left the candle behind (that's why jisung was so heartbroken and then worried about the flame!). And about the theory of the narrative universe (low key obsessed with it): everything that happens to nct 127, dream and u is because they're subjects of experiments in the dream lab. That's why sometimes weird or sureal things happen, like glitches, or fantastic scenarios, or diggity with dream on tv and some members watching them like they're not the same people. Wayv are time travelers and are trying to get them out of the dream lab to take them to kosmo (i think, that's the ticket yangyang and ten had), so as they're in different time lines, they can be with the rest in nct (present ig) and by their own in the "real" world (the post apocalityc scenarios like turn back time and all the superm videos). Nct story line is totally inmerse in smcu, so there's more story ofc.

Somewhere here at YT there's another channel that explains the NCity universe.. Anyway, the last song 7Dream sang was Candle Light (2018) - this track videos of Dream verse was supposed to be the continuation of that album..of how Mark graduated and with the comeback of Dream's first album they came back officially as 7dream, NCT Dream is 7.. With the Dream concert, Mark wasn't there, there's some JiSung moment when he was crying (it was devastating) with the whole graduation thing and I think “The Thing I Cherish The Most” translates to that.. - *this is just me*

Honestly there were so many theories that came from Dream-verse. There's one though (I cant remember who said this theory] that the candle means so much to Jisung is because of the previous graduation system Dream had. Because when Mark graduated, they gave us the song Candlelight, and then with Boom was the theory Jisung was standing alone around his cake because of when the other members eventually graduate as well. So he cherishes the candle as it's like the last thing he has from the members. I cant recall how they connected Diggity to this though, but the person did say that it could've been due to Jisung "dreaming of everyone leaving". Maybe someone below this can explain it better than me lol
