The yellow one is wrapped loosely, which is why it has a softer, more cushy feel. The other 2 are conversly wrapped tighter, for a firm feel. I use a spray adhesive when I malletize my sticks, using a 2" strip of felt. That way I have regular drumsticks with a customized mallet end. Very flexable for my style of playing. I can accomplish a left hand cymbal swell, for a dynamic build, while keeping a cymbal (hi-hat or ride) to snare pattern for a solid rhythm, or a one handed tom fill. I use my bass drum for the last beat of the fill, allowing me an easy stick flip(still in my hand of course)and time keeps on "slipping into the future'. Older musicians will get that. I don't twirl my sticks, that's fluff for show and not what the drummer is there for. My opinion if course. This is a good sight. Glad you are doing these videos.

Very interesting. Look forward to using with my students. I think they may help them get more bass sound since their reach is not as far as ours.😁

I really like them. They give the bass tone so much more punch and make it easier to play since you don't need to bend over.

I have a set of Jaxs Sticks and they are fabulous for playing! Absolutely go grab a pair if you want to get that nice sound. I also use the smaller mallets for when I'm having an issue with my Arthritis and want to play my djembe. 10/10 go grab some!

Can you use those to do a bass/rimshot on the cajon, or would it wreck the wood on the cajon? And darn it - couldn't resist the T-shirt - might become a collectors item when they sue. ;)

Stick material are maybe bamboo? 🤓

Looking at the sticks they are definitely wood, bamboo has a shine to it that comes from the extremely smooth outer surface, while you will see marks from the nodes of the bamboo on it. If it was bamboo that was worked into wood-like sticks, you would still see the nodes where one section of bamboo joined another, and it would be much less glossy than say natural bamboo. That looked like a sort of hardwood, with definite lines where the year-rings were clearly visible.
