I got to say thank y'all. I started watching y'all build y'all house last month started at episode 1. Mid way though I was watching episode 22 when my mom called me and told me my dad was in a semi-truck accident. He passed away in the accident. And through all the sleepless nights I turn y'all on and help me fall asleep in a weird way. And all the encouraging speeches y'all give at the end. It has helped this ol boy. Also had inspired me to build my home as well. Y'all keep up the good work it's awesome.

Wow. The cabinets look great. Once the trim is up all the little imperfections will be hidden. Love the texture on the wall, but Ladly feeling better and dressed up for town was precious to see. Can’t wait for the countertops

So glad to see little 3' is feeling better! And that purple "go to town dress" is just to much of a cuteness overload. 🥰 Jim, you should be very proud of those cabinets. I dare say not many of the people watching this video (including me) would have done as good of a job as you did. Love the bedroom walls and the tree looks great!! Looking forward to the counter top video. Love to all of ya'll from all of us.🙂

It is clear to me you folks are not allergic to work! We are watching your house building playlist IN ORDER so we are NOT actually watching this episode now, but we wanted to leave ya’all a comment. We did most of the hands-on work building our home in the late 80s. A lot of things have changed since then, but your work brings back a lot of memories. We wish you many blessings!

Love ya'lls program. Great that you folks partner so well. As to the discrepancy with cabinets to ceiling, trusses. Especially if they were engineered/manufactured. First house I did had 40 foot span, outside to outside wall. Had an inside wall, kitchen as well as big bedroom. 2 1/2 inch to top plate. Do not try to pull it down. Build to it especially if confident with floor level. Trim and caulk are your friend. $1300 on materials for cabinets? Fantastic, especially in these times. The house I am in now was basically constructed by me. Took me six years to get a CO. Rudimentary kitchen but all the essentials. Wife finally decided to move down here after the big house was burglarized. Harping on the kitchen. I had tile counter tops but only 4x4 posts underneath. Some shelving underneath. My bathrooms were beautiful, four of them. I found every toilet beside the road. I know my toilets, they were quality. As cabinets are concerned: went to Lowes and wife had a very capable advisor on the project. Came together very well with a great contractor doing the work. 44 K, may be a few appliances thrown in there. Still a huge amount as my first house was 53 K. I love what you folks are doing, not sure if the rank and file are up to the task. One comment on SAFTEY: Make sure your wife keeps her beautiful hair away from any rotating shaft or chain. Do not wear a necktie in a machine shop around lathes nor run an industrial drill with a chest length beard. Much Love.

hoping the wee one gets better, prayers for her, the cabinet finishing is looking great, the sponge idea for texturing walls is a fantastic idea no need to buy one of those texture guns when a trip to dollar tree or general can buy cheap disposable sponges, your journeys destination is an awesome voyage of learning, the oak limbs can make great firewood or just outdoor firepit times at night, thanks for the vid, God bless

We just poured some concrete countertops for our outdoor kitchen. I didn't do a dry pour, which I wish I would have, but I did use the bullnose forms and stamps from Concrete Countertop Solutions. We couldn't have been happier with how they turned out, the forms made it look like a pro did the work.

Suspended ceilings are hardly ever level - a lot of kitchen cabinet designs will have an inch gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. Its then easy to cut an inset trim to fix between the cabinets and the ceiling - cut to accommodate the changes in levels.

Talk about divide and conquer. Yall killed it this week. Capt. Croc's - those cabinets look amazing! You said there were mistakes made but I can't see a single thing wrong with them. I did have a question though. once the wall next to the fridge is trimmed out, is there going to be any clearance issues with the fridge door opening? I couldnt tell from the video but looks pretty close. I like the texture walls as well and it makes the room really come together. Sure was good to see the little Miss enjoying herself and helping with cutting down the little trees. That was precious!! And that tree... wow!! what a beautiful tree and ginormous. great job trimming it up! Lastly, I sure hope yall werent too taken aback by Sunday's comment. Just seemed a little outta place for what yall normally do. Well, I had a great break today so back at it. Enjoy the rest of the week and looking forward to seeing what you bring us on Sunday!!

Bodie!!! Thank you very much! We were thinking the fridge might be too tight for the doors to open fully but it is looking like we are going to have about 1/2” of clearance on each side. Ehhh don’t worry yourself about the comment….. can’t win them all right!?! Hope you are having a great week!

In the UK we pay a lot of money to get rid of texturing, Ceilings tend to be heavy looking with texture as are Walls, anyway we love to watch your progress on you amazing House. God bless you, David and family Norfolk England. Ps Love your Accents.

What a amazing big bed she has 😊 Wait, you caught fish by just dragging a net in a puddle 😮 Amazing shirt, so cool. Pitty I couldn’t get a free one, hint hint Jim? 😅😂😊 The cabinet look good and the fit and finish well look great once painted 😊 I thought that the ceiling wasn’t level, see previous video comments. But I thought you said you planed and levelled the ceiling a while ago( old comment) hence why you do it before putting the plaster board up 😢 Hmmm did ever get that tractor started? The tree trim looks good, until the next video ❤❤

Alright guys, answer me this if you can Y'all talked about spray painting the other textured wall but have y'all ever used a roller on one? I like the concept but would have to use a roller for my 2 applications. Love the videos!
@CajunCountryLivin

You can paint with a roller. We just prefer the sprayer because it’s faster.

Things are looking superb as usual and I always seem to get a little knowledge or idea from your videos so thanks for that. I have a question for you about bugs 🐜 🐛 🐞 and poisonous plants 🌱. We just moved to Oklahoma last year from Oregon and well ticks and poison ivy have not been a part of my life up until now! So I see you guys out in the wild and in tall grass all the time and was wondering if you have ticks and poison ivy and what you do to protect yourselves if you do?
@CajunCountryLivin
@CajunCountryLivin Жыл бұрын
Thank you Caroline! Yes we have ticks and poison ivy here also. The poison ivy doesn’t seem to bother us “I’m not sure why” but we do avoid it if we notice it. Ticks on the other hand are typically not as bad here as in some of the surrounding areas. Very seldom to hear of someone getting a tick bite thank goodness!
